As some people mention home plate is cheaply done with just paint. Overall It’s seems to be good quality and it’s held up fine for the first couple of months. I would buy it again.

    • Good mat, could use better grips on bottom
I use this mat in top of a turf floor and was bunching up under the weight of batters swings. I added the clear plastic protective covering with teeth you would find under a chair at a typical work desk, and that has helped it from moving. Overall though, good functional mat.

When I was shopping for one of these mats, it looked like there were a lot of lower quality options available, and many of them were non-standard sizes. I really wanted one of these to complete our outdoor batting cage, but bristled at the $400+ price tags from several baseball equipment websites. I had this in my cart for a few days before deciding to give it a try. I am so happy I bought this! My neighbor has the $400+ one from a baseball supply website, and when I opened this one it was the exact same quality! Since our cage is outside, a rubber backing was a necessity. Several options on Amazon have felt or foam, which would not have held up to the elements. This mat has a thick, sturdy black rubber backing which keeps it flat (even during a hard pivot) and prevents any slipping. The pile is good quality and feels like it will last for years. I am so happy I took a chance on this mat! The only thing I'll mention about the design is that the lines are not painted . . . they're actually white turf, which makes them super bright and white - very nice. However, the home plate is painted on, so it's not as vibrant and white as the lines. I don't see this as a negative, but some buyers may be surprised by that. It's still a great product and I highly recommend it. EDIT TO ADD: We just had our first rain of the season, and the paint on the home plate is really coming off. We're going to spray paint it to brighten it back up, but even though this happened, I'm still very satisfied with the purchase.     • Great outside where my kids tore up all the grass

About a month in with it being outside and so far it’s great. Kids tore up all the grass where they use as home plate for whiffle ball and hitting limited flight balls, and this went directly in the dirt. Our yard is laid out such that there’s no where else to have home, so I figure we need this where it’s at for 4-5y as I won’t be growing any grass any time soon. The plate is fading but we’ll just put a real one over top if it gets too bad. The white lines for the batters box have helped my 6yos learn where their feet should be. They aren’t fading at all like the plate. ... show more

Bright colors, quality mat. Great for training and practice games. Thickness of this mat is just right. Not too thick, not too thin. So far it’s holding up nicely in the Florida weather conditions of high heat, direct sunlight, and rain. No discoloration at all.
