I bought these so that my 6 lbs Yorkie/Maltese mix could get up and down safely with the new height we were dealing with. Old bed was 20” from the ground, and the new bed is 31”. Big difference. Especially when you’re a small dog. It was easy to put together. Only thing I’d add to these is a little handle on the back to make it easier to move about when I’m making the bed and or vacuuming. As my dog ages I’ve begun adding stairs to her frequented spaces to minimize potential joint damage from jumping off furniture. This is my second set of Zinus stairs and the only company I’ll buy from if I need others in the future. They are well-made, sturdy but soft, easy to clean (the cover zips off), and unobtrusive. We purchased the extra small, which is essentially two foam blocks that can stack atop one another, with a fitted cover that can zip on and off. It's firm enough for our 10lb (4.5kg) tabby to easily climb without slipping, but soft enough that it's easy on his joints. It was easy to assemble. It's sturdy but soft which is what I wanted. I have it set up next to my couch on carpeting and it doesn't move at all. I was worried that my dog who likes to launch herself onto the couch might make it move around but no, it stays nicely in place. My only issue with it is that the stairs are so short that my dog gets a bit confused on how to get up the top step, so I took out the foam piece which is the top step and smoothed out the fabric that contained the foam piece and it's easier now for my dog. ... show more

I have a chihuahua 6 pounds , long legs Ok for him . I have a other mix chihuahua , 18 pounds . She cannot jump on my sofa . She can’t go up the sinus stairs , have to push her up . She is fat .short legs . The steps are too tall for her Her feet go inside the foam. My advice is . Not for more than a 14 pounds dog .
