    • Not for use with mechanical descenders
I received a red rope and when ordered the title didn’t specify a color to be shipped. . Haven’t checked length yet and ordered 125’. Purchased specifically for descending down palms through a friction saver and Petzl Zig Zag Plus. So this is my review based off that. I noticed rope is stiff but will loosen up like everything else. Within my first descent I noticed the outer sheath of core bunching up causing me to get caught up in my Zig zag. With little work made it down and proceeded to set up and climb next palm not believing it would get worse. This palm being 40’ roughly. As I descended I was immediately getting caught up constantly to the point I was stuck halfway down tree and not able to get it free. The rope was severely bunching up from the sheath and outer core. With this palm curving one way, I was hanging about 8’ away in order to reach the palm. I instructed ground person to grab ladder JIC. I eventually swung to palm and was able to gaff back down with my flip line. This is a good back up rope or utility rope to lower branches and equipment down but not for use with the zig zag or mechanical descenders in general. (Which I purchased for). I will purchase a rope for the descender with no outer sheath to bunch up and utilize this as one my utility ropes. This is not sellers fault nor manufacturer. I wasn’t aware that a dual layer rope does this In descenders that are precise in their mechanical movements allowing to safely work unhindered. There’s a few minor blemishes which I’m hoping are just cosmetic. I paid for 125 feet but got 120. Midline will be anchored 60 - 65 feet up tree so being short 5 feet maybe a problem. As far as quality and strength for the price it’s still a great deal but would’ve paid more for the correct amount.

They will send you whatever rope they want you to have. My rope was green, not exactly a great color for cutting down trees. But, I purchased blue, like the picture.
