The straps are fine, they work as described and had no quality flaws. They are light duty, bare-bones, and shorter than you would expect. Most straps are 15', but these are only 10'. They work just fine, although if you expect high quality this is not it. The stamped metal is thin and the webbing is not meant for heavy loads. These are a pretty good value for the price, but don't expect precision manufacturing. All the metal edges are kind of sharp, and the ratchet mechanism does not operate or release very smoothly. If you only intend to use these occasionally, then they should be OK, but if you need to use them a lot, I would buy a more well made product. ... show more

Currently using these on a very large grill cover. In the past I have used bungees to hold the grill cover down since I live in a high wind area. The sun would wreck the bungees in about three weeks. Had to move golf cart, outdoor grill, ladders from Texas to Alabama. Did use 3 heavy duty ones for the golf cart that already had. Stopped after about an hour and tightened up and they rode all the way.

They are definitely the economical version. They got the job done but the nylon web straps are very thin and the metal on the ratchet as well is very thin. They work as supposed to but the long term usefulness will not be good.
