The straps are fine, they work as described and had no quality flaws. They are light duty, bare-bones, and shorter than you would expect. Most straps are 15', but these are only 10'. They work just fine, although if you expect high quality this is not it. The stamped metal is thin and the webbing is not meant for heavy loads. These are a pretty good value for the price, but don't expect precision manufacturing. All the metal edges are kind of sharp, and the ratchet mechanism does not operate or release very smoothly. If you only intend to use these occasionally, then they should be OK, but if you need to use them a lot, I would buy a more well made product. ... show more

This item worked well but tangle up on me. It may be operator error but I little strength in my hands. The metal clamps were a little harsh for my fingers. I was able to tighten them so I could transport my scooter and wheelchair, but I had to buy a more expensive pair with plastic covering for my fingers to operate.     • You get what you pay for

There is a reason that they are the cheap ones...appears to be the same pattern as most other cheap ratcheting tie downs..and they are, but the stamped steel ratchet mechanism is thin. It is 0.040", about 1mm. I work part time as a motorcycle mechanic, new bikes come in crates, partially disassembled...some are held in by one time use ratchet straps. The ratchet mechanism on them is stamped from 0.070" steel..almost twice as thick...on something somewhat disposable, although we save and reuse them. Point is, these are pretty flimsy. But, they were cheap, and have a low rating, so I got what I paid for, and gave them 4 stars. I like that they don't have a silly rubber piece molded over the handle that looks like part of a sneaker, like many cheap tie downs do. The comments in some reviews about "instructions aren't clear enough"......what? They work like every other ratchet strap. Someone who writes that should never buy a knife or gun, you may operate it from the wrong end, something bad may happen. ... show more
