  • Replaced my stove
I'm new to induction cooking. We have a gas range that I've enjoyed for 20+ years. The cost of a new induction range is high so I thought I'd give this a try first to see if like it. I love it. I have been cooking with this for a month and I am able to make all the meals I normally make on the gas range. Induction is taking a little getting used to, but I'm thrilled with the reduced heat in the kitchen, the ease of cleanup, the speed at which pans come to temperature and then drop down when you reduce the power. I haven't used the gas range since I got this. A few of my old pots do not work (copper bottom Revereware, anodized aluminum, non-magnetic stainless steel) but my more recent tri-clad pans work a treat and carbon steel (my wok) and cast iron are amazing, they heat so quickly. ... show more

  • Perfect compliment to my office mini-kitchen.
BOTTOM LINE: 1. I recommend this Zavor G2 Dual Burner Induction Cooktop. 2. The current price of ~$186 is reasonable. LIKES: - I love the flat top. Solid piece including the controls. - Red digital display showing settings is awesome. - Induction cooking is the best for not transferring a lot of heat to the environment. - Controls work well for setting temperatures as well as cooking time. - Dual burner. Perfect. DISLIKES: - None. ... show more

  • Convenient Countertop Cooking
I ordered this Zavor G2 Dual Burner Induction Cooktop to get some experience using induction cooking. I'm expecting that my current gas cooktop is going to need replacement before too long. I've slowly been converting my appliances to electric, and I'm thinking about going with an induction cooktop when I do the cooktop replacement. I thought that this Zavor would let me get some experience with induction cooking before I make my decision. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with this cooktop. It fits easily on my kitchen island. It feels substantial but it light enough to move easily. The controls, once you go through the user manual, are pretty intuitive. The amount of heat generated in my kitchen is substantially less when using this Zavor as compared to my gas cooktop. And, of course, it does not pollute the air in my kitchen. I find that this induction unit does not provide as much pinpoint control as my gas cooktop does. It works great when you need a lot of heat (boiling pasta, frying, etc.) but making delicate sauces is a bit more of a challenge. For now, I'll chalk it up to my basic unfamiliarity with induction cooking. I also noted that this Zavor seems to have an issue that seems common to similar cooktops -- the diameter of the induction coil is quite a bit smaller than most pots. This means that the center of your pot tends to get hotter than the periphery. If you are using something like heavy cast iron, you probably won't notice. But if you are using a large diameter magnetic stainless frying pan, you may see that you have uneven temperatures that could affect how items placed in the pan brown. Again, this may just be something that requires different cooking techniques that need to be learned over time. The cooktop does produce some noise, but not so much that I found it to be objectionable. One of the best features is how easy it is to clean this cooktop. When you spill something on the stove, cleanup can be a real nightmare. But with the smooth surface of this Zavor, a quick wipe and you're done. The surface will get hot, but the heat is not being produced internally (the surface of the cooktop gets hot because the pot sitting on it is hot) and it cools down very quickly once you remove your pot. If you are considering an induction cooktop, and you don't want to be limited by single-burner models, this Zavor might be a good choice for you. ... show more

  • So Useful!
I got this for remote cooking situations and it works wonders. The burners is great for traveling and having a burner to cook your own food. They are also great when cooking larger meals at home if you need more burners. The electric burner heats up very quickly and cooks efficiently. The burner is a good size and easy to travel with. The burners are standard size and you can cook most things on them. It comes is at a decent price and it looks good. I am pleased. ... show more

  • Easy to store away, space saver!
This induction stove is my first, so I took the time to read the instructions. I like that is compact and can be stored away when not being used. Not all my pots and pans work with it, but is ok as the stove won't turn on unless it senses a compatible pot or pan on the burner. It heats up fairly quick and cools down very quick. I liked this stove very much and I'm starting to use it on a more regular basis, so I think it will end up replacing my gas stove. ... show more

  • Great for camping!
My family loves to camp in tents. I have a large family; so, I try to find easier ways to cook large amounts of food for everyone when we are camping. We sometimes cook over open fire, but sometimes I just like to have a piece of convenience from home to make things easier. We took this on a recent weekend trip; it worked great. Water boils in around a minute of time! I cannot believe how well this works. I may even end up using it at home too! ... show more

  • Too pricey and one burner doesn't work properly
If you compare this cooktop with others in market, you'll see there is a big difference in price wise. Also, one of the burners doesn't heat up properly. Moreover, this cooktop doesn't have knobs and the control board is touch which I like that. You can use it as a built-in or on the counter top. Burners need improvement. ... show more

  • Does the job
We have a Tiny home guest house with limited countertop space. So we elected not to include a stovetop to conserve what little space is available. We decided we preferred being able to switch appliances out or whatever was needed at the time. This induction stovetop makes that concept work quite well. It's large enough to accommodate two pans but can be stored away when not in use. It cools down almost immediately so you can set it aside fairly quickly. The buttons on the front are clear and easy to operate. It heats up quickly and has lots of safety features to keep you safe. It's a snap to clean. It makes a great addition to our little tiny home. ... show more
