I have a new oven/stove, and I wanted to protect the stove top somehow. After researching various types of covers, I bought this one. Yes, it's silicone and cannot withstand any type of heat. Be sure to remove before cooking; then replace only when the stove top is completely cooled. It's easy to remove, fold in quarters, and store when not in use. So easy to clean. I absolutely LOVE this lightweight silicone mat for my glass cooktop. I had debated about getting one of those wooden serving blocks, but it just seemed it would be too big and cumbersome when not in use. This mat is super pliable and easy to roll up when not in use (pictured). It gives the kitchen a clean appearance by covering up stained cooktops. It is the perfect buffer so dishes and pots don’t make a loud clatter and protects against the heat of items coming out of the oven—no risk of damaged countertops when you can place items on the mat.
