I brought this up to our camp a few days ago and decided to try it out with my 12 yr old son. I don’t feel too comfortable leaving him alone with an axe but with the sledgehammer and this he surprised me with how much wood he was able to split. This went easily through some seasoned oak and pine with no trouble. I decided to screw ot to a stump base and kept it on the smaller side as the logs were not that big, it worked great and allowed for easy kindling splitting as well. I think my wife will enjoy this as well for those times I’m not around to split. No directions on how to put together but look at the picture here and you can figure it easily enough! ... show more

This is my second splitter, 1st one was made in China and crumbled into pieces after about an hour. This replacement stood up to everything I had. It did if not break or crack at all. I pre-drilled holes into the logs and the pointed tip did the rest. Very good purchase.

I purchased this in hopes that it would be quick and reliable. The material is very durable and solid however the blade itself is not able to truly splice the wood. I even switched to a larger sledge in hopes that it would work.

I'm able to split small logs into tiny kindling very easily. I love it! Only thing I'd change is the height of it, most of our logs are taller than the splitter so sometimes it won't split all the way through or get stuck requiring me to manually finish the split or struggle to pull the log out.
