I keep breaking welds on my bike racks that can't stand up to the rattling of third world roads. They last less than a year. This is a completely different approach that uses lots of beefy, i.e heavy, hardware to bolt the pieces of the rack together in place of welding them. The result is a significantly larger capacity, at a cost of significant weight. Weighs 2 lbs more than the 1.5lb racks that keep breaking, nearly all of it being bolts and screws. Installation takes longer too as you are bolting together pieces that usually come welded together. The rack clamps on to your seat stays, and they include rubber gaskets to keep from scratching the bike. It was easy to avoid interfering with the exposed, bare rear shift cable. The hardware is first quality including locking bolts, design is well thought out, and they include all the tools you'll need and clear instructions. If it fails, I'll be back, if there's no update, you can assume it's still going. ... show more

I have a Rad Rover 6+ with 4” tires that I use for hunting. It seems to be very sturdy, and fit perfectly with plenty of clearance around the tire. I am currently making some modifications so that I can haul my tree stands and climbing sticks without having to carry them on my back. Could not be happier with this purchase. This reach is a pain in the @$$ to install with 37 pieces connected dependent on one another. Get your seat height right first so you dont have to fiddle with it after install. My wife weighs 150lb. and im now able to throw her on the back of my fat tire 3000 watt ebike and cruise around town. I mounted a modified dirt bike seat to a 1x6 and mounted the 1x6 to the rack. Easy peezy. This thing does not flex at all and my wife feels totally secure. It says its not for fat tire bikes but it fits fine. Dont worry if you have fat tires; I have at least half an inch of room on each side with mine. ... show more

Took a bit of simple fidaddling but nice strong mount and ready for saddlebags if I choose to do that. Had to swap some of the support arms around to get it to fit my particular bike (30 yr old GIANT Iguana) but don't plan to carry too much weight, just pedal around the geezer community anyway. Was able to mount a rather large trunk bag on it as seen in the attached picture. The forward support arms were not going to fit to my bike's frame so I swapped some of the arm parts around and ran that arm down to the rear support arm. Not as strong but more than strong enough for my needs. Will it work for you? Now how would I know that? I'm happy. ... show more

I was able to attach it pretty easily. Though if step by step instructions is something you need, you might want to look for a different bike rack. There were a few pictures but barely any instruction. Works great otherwise! Sturdy and clean.

Built well and fairly easy to install. The only issue with installing, is if your gear shifter cable and brake cable are slightly in the way when you were chatted to the bottom bar, you will have to work with that a bit.
