  • Perfect for Campus Life – Sturdy, Stylish, and Practical!
Color: White Style: Basket
I bought the Retrospec Apollo Bike Basket for my daughter, who's starting college this fall, and it's been a game-changer for her campus commute! She loves the classic look of the basket—it adds a bit of vintage flair to her bike, which she pairs with modern gear. But beyond just the aesthetics, this basket is incredibly practical. It’s surprisingly spacious, easily fitting her textbooks, a water bottle, and even a light jacket for those unpredictable weather changes. The sturdy construction ensures that it doesn't wobble or sag, even when she has a heavier load. Installation was a breeze—took her all of 10 minutes, and she was ready to go. The basket stays securely in place, which was one of my main concerns. Plus, the handle is a nice touch, making it easy to carry when she wants to take it off the bike and bring it into class or the library. Overall, this has been a fantastic purchase. It’s made her daily rides so much more convenient and stylish. If you’re looking for a durable, functional, and chic bike basket, the Retrospec Apollo is an excellent choice! ... show more

  • Perfect
Color: White Style: Basket
I love this little basket! I use it on the front of my bike to keep my bag in as I'm riding. It looks adorable and is very durable. It's held my entire backpack when I've ridden to class, which I wasn't expecting. I also love how it's removable so I can take it off and use it while shopping, then reattach for the ride home. It's easy to reattach by putting the basket handles down, and locks back into place securely so I'm not worried about it falling off. mid-ride I'm also a big fan of little velcro piece that can attach to the bike for extra stability. I really enjoy this basket and have gotten multiple compliments on it. Perfect for anyone who uses their bike while running errands or even just as a place to keep your belongings during your ride! ... show more

  • I can't say enough good things about this basket.
Color: Black Style: Basket
I love this basket. It's easy to slip on and off, and the best part is the little trick that allow you to lift the handles, and then boom, it becomes a little basket you can carry around the farmer's market or grocery store! So convenient, and so useful. I've had one on my bike for a few years and it's durable and stands up to some pretty significant abuse. ... show more

  • Great basket, but doesn’t support full weight
Color: Black Style: Basket
I love this basket and use it almost every day. It is very easy to use and install, and it is a great size and shape. It fits well onto my bike, and the basket is super easy to take on and off of the mount. It’s really handy when grabbing a few groceries or for carrying your lunch or a jacket. I saw some people saying they had issues with the basket falling off of the mount when going over large bumps. I also had this issue, but I was able to resolve it by placing bungee cords in an X across the top to both secure the handles to the basket and prevent items in the basket from bouncing out. I do have two issues with the basket. First, the basket broke in two paces after only two weeks of use when I went over a sudden bump in the road. The two parts that broke were both on the mount. One part is a piece of fabric with Velcro which secures the mount to the bike frame, and the seam on the fabric completely tore when I went over the bump; I was able to fix this easily using zip ties. The other part is a metal support bar on the mount which became disconnected at the join (this can be seen in the attached image). I have not yet figured out a way to fix this, so when I use the basket now I have to hold the basket with my left hand to make sure it doesn’t wobble all over the place. After the mount broke I weighed the basket and it’s contents to see if it was over the advertised 15 pound weight limit, but all together everything weighed 13.5 pounds. I wouldn’t recommend putting more than 10 pounds in the basket if you want to be on the safe side. My other issue with the basket is simply that when full, it blocks the lower beam of light from my headlight, making it harder for me to see at night, and the design of the basket doesn’t let me attach my headlight to the front of the basket. ... show more

  • Easy install and super functional
Color: Black Style: Basket
I decided on this metal bike basket after reading dozens of reviews and ‘best of’ articles. This basket was so easy to install, feels secure, and works great for errands. It’s toted my hefty kryptonite bike chain and a full basket of farmers market goodies with no signs of stress. Recommend this for its size and ease of use! ... show more

  • convenient and cute but could be more sturdy
Color: Black Style: Basket
first, I did not realize when I ordered this that the basket was detachable with handles like a shopping basket. that is so nifty and I've gotten a lot of use out of that feature. not only do I take it into stores in place of a regular basket, it's useful for getting home with all my stuff. instead of taking everything out of the basket and carrying it in the house, I can just take the whole basket with me. the basket attaches to the handlebar mount at two points: there are two small holes in the bottom of the basket for the pegs to go through, and the handles of the basket slot through two holes at the top. this makes it super easy to attach or detach the basket without any fuss, but its secure enough to hold the basket in place. now for the things that have disappointed me. pretty shortly after I got the basket, the Velcro loop that attaches the mount to the bike frame broke. the Velcro is long enough that I can twist it around to secure it, but it is kind of frustrating and comes undone occasionally. second, by this Velcro loop there is this sort of triangular piece that holds the basket away from the frame at an angle. this triangular piece rests on two little pegs. these pegs are not very sturdy. once while I was riding, they failed on me, causing the basket to drop down and hit the bike very loudly, which was startling. the basket did not fall off though. the pegs were bent out of shape so they did not support that triangular piece. I bent them back into shape, but they still frequently fail. again, this doesn't cause the basket to fall off, but it does make the basket bang against the bike making for a bumpy ride. note that I dont carry anything heavy in the basket, usually just my water bottle and some small items. ... show more
