This does a very good job at winding up a mess of yarn, and so much quicker than doing it by hand. The directions were easy to follow on where to get the yarn started and easy to assemble. I don't know if it is actually by design, but if you get a knot on the yarn it stops and I had to turn it off and back on to get it going again, if on a lower speed it stopped but would start spinning again once I got the knot out. For 30 years, my wife has been hand-winding her yarn, that is, until I saw this. Such a simple and practical item to. She loves it. It's well made, lightweight, not large, and stores easily back in the box and out of the way when she's not using it.
