This machine is amazing. Has a bit of a learning curve at first. Once you get it nailed, you can do amazing things. Easy to assemble. Great packaging. This machine is a great addition to my home. Already etching on mirrors and canvas. Very fast and precise. Best bang for a buck. Already starting to sell some of my projects. X Tool is the best there is. Cuts through wood fast. 3mm bass wood is one pass. You will love the X Tool D1 Pro. Has a huge FB community with many pages for beginners. People do answer any questions you have with the set up and start to run. Countless files to download and start burning, cutting, etching. Alot of videos on youtube from people that have been experienced running this machine. Don't get me wrong. You will have hiccups at first. Stick with it. You will be amazed on all the things you can do with the X Tool D1 Pro. I was a huge sign carver with my palm router. This even makes that a breeze. Plenty of accessories to go with it. Everything from the rotary tools for etching tumblers. To expansion rails to bigger projects to enclosures to vent the smoke so its safe to use indoors.     • .Xtool Customer Support is BAD. Can't get my laser fixed!!- DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND!!!
The media could not be loaded. Overall I really enjoy engraving. Unfortunately 3 months into using the Xtool the D-1 Pro is no longer functioning. It stops in the middle of projects. Also, I was excited I purchased the IR laser module for the D-1 and that no longer works. I am trying to work with their customer service, but they keep asking me for the same information that I gave during my initial phone call. I will update my review if or once I get results from Xtool customer service Updated 4/30. I am having trouble with Xtool Customer Support. I it has been about a month since the unit stopped working, and I still do not have a resolution. Their customer support has aske the same questions approximately 4 times. Not sure if I will ever be able to use this unit again. I suggest purchasing a different brand. Update 5/2- I have given up on this brand. I have been dealing with this vendor for a month now and all they do is ask the same questions over and over. DO NOT BUY XTOOL ... show more

I’ve been using this for a year now and it works really well especially for the price. The framing is very sturdy and the product is well made. It’s not perfect, as I had to replace the motherboard, but xtool customer service was good to work with and they sent me a replacement. The xtool software continues to get helpful updates. Updated review 1yr 2mos later: Nothing but 5 stars and high accolades for the D1 pro 20 W with the extension kit and air assist. after using this for a little over a year, I’ve been able to cut and engrave dozens of items that have gone into other projects, and some gifts for friends and family. The updates to the creative space software have been really good and they continue to get better and better overtime. I prefer to use it over light burn it as it’s just quicker for me to get in and get in and cut quickly. XT Support has been super responsive and really amazing with any issues I had early on. The first head that I got had a couple of issues with focusing and they quickly replaced it and I was back up and running in no time. At this point, I would say very HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! If you are looking at a home desktop, laser looked no further. The X tool products have been really quite fantastic that I’ve owned. I’m probably at a point where I really should upgrade to the P2 CO2 laser for some of the needs I have… but for me, for now, it’s still a little bit too pricey. Maybe they’ll have a fantastic sale which will cause me to buy one soon :-) Updated review September 7: Update from 1 start to 4 stars BIG improvements After a firmware update and a software update for their new studio software the laser has turned out to be pretty amazing. I think there is still a ton of work to do on the software, they’re trying to make it much easier to use but the settings are not completely clear yet. I’m also using Lightburn but Lightburn doesn’t seem to recognize the profiles that I imported and it really cuts inconsistent and super wide, not sure why it’s doing that and I really don’t have the time to troubleshoot it right now. Check out the photos I am able to cut hardwood very precisely and it cuts fairly quickly! That is 3/8” hard maple and purpleheart which both cut really well. I also took the time to build out the enclosure with a Laser safety glass on top, a multi power supply to turn on each component independently and proper ventilation along with lighting inside the box. Original 1 star review: With the original D1 10 W, I have not gotten the new size boundaries to be accepted by the D1. It’s setup in Lightburn for the laser but the laser head does not recognize it and that’s due to the software firmware update that’s required. It was stated that you have to use the new software to update the firmware on the original D1 10 w but this fails every time as it’s not recognized within that software. I open the support case with XTool and got zero response from them. So if I put my original D1 back together and purchased a new D1 pro 20w and installed the extensions on that laser. But I’m having many problems with it… keeps detecting a fire when I just do framing and the laser is not even engaged so the software appears to be super super super buggy and has pretty much halted production for me at this point. ... show more
