First of all, these are flexible and durable and the 5 star rating is based on exceeding their value as an economy planter. Not fair to call them flimsy, because I mostly use them to plant seedlings in soil and they are reused and hold up fine. Since they are flexible, they hold up fine to being tossed around a quite a bit and make transplanting easy. I do use two of them to grow hydroponic tomatoes in a Kratky tote setup and they're holding up fine. I don't get to use 3" cups in hydro much because most my plants are either in 2,4, or 6" cups. ... show more
