  • VERY NICE
Color: Mahogany
I like this Metronome far better than electronic metronomes because I have gone through two electronic metronomes that for some reason just stopped working; so, I decided to go to the old method, and I am far more satisfied with this old style wind up Metronome. WORD OF WARNING: The Metronome slides from the thumb and fingers when picking it up from the top; so, I used Shoegoo for glue, and I glued a strip of velcro on both sides; the velcro was only the spiky part, and I threw the soft velcro away; now, when I pick the metronome up from the top it will not slide through my thumb and finger; otherwise, it is best to pick up the metronome by grabbing it in a palmed fashion. Also, I had some little rubber circles that glue on to the bottom of electronic products to stop them from sliding around; so I glued a little rubber circle on each one of the feet of the Metronome in order to stop it from sliding off of smooth surfaces because it will slide off on a smooth surface! You do not want to drop this precious item; also, do not wind it up very much so that at the end of each use, you can slide the gauge to beat very fast so that it will completely wind down; thus, removing tension on the spring; also, it has a very nice look to it when it is not being used compared to that of some ugly electronic gadget. The sound on this Metronome is a good loud solid wood nock. ... show more

  • DAMAGED GOODS
Color: Walnut
The product is actually really beautiful but the distributor packaged it so poorly that the case is damaged. The logo has also fallen off perhaps in transit. Disappointing as I tried to get this early for Christmas. Also this product isnโ€™t cheap yet the packaging for delivery was so poorly handled.

  • I'd buy it again.
Color: Walnut
A bit pricey, but that's what I expected of an old school metronome. Keeps great time, has helped my daughter improve her piano skills greatly. I'd buy it again if I needed two.

  • Good product, poor customer service
Color: Mahogany
I ordered the mahogany wood metronome. I received the plastic mahogany metronome. I was charged for the more expensive wood metronome. When I called 8th Street Music, they said they didn't have a sku for the plastic metronome. I was asked if I could consider keeping the plastic one. He mentioned again that there wasn't a sku for this item; I got the impression he wanted me to keep the plastic one in order to fix his sku predicament. I returned the plastic one and then got the mahogany wood metronome. ... show more

  • An Experience for my Granddaughter
Color: Mahogany
When my granddaughter began taking piano lessons, I wanted her to share some of the experiences I had when learning to play and love the piano. Shopping for her first metronome, however, was not so easy. The retail stores are now selling plastic, stop watch type metronomes which being a grandmother were not the experience I wanted her to have. Looking on line I found this model and instantly knew I had found what I wanted. She loves it and it has been a great help to her with learning the time value of each note in different pieces, plus learning to play them at the speed the composer desired. ... show more

Excellent fit and finish. Looks like old antique. Accurate rhythm. Recommend to anyone musically inclined or interested in attractive conversation pieces

  • Good basic metronome
Color: Mahogany
Good, basic metronome. I bought it for a gift, but I'm a piano teacher and wanted one like the older Wittner I own. It has a good sound. Took away one star because wood isn't of same quality as my old one. Looks good, though, not cheap.

  • Wittner Wood Metronome, Mahogany, very high quality
Color: Mahogany
This kind of metronome has not only precise timing as a digital one, but is also a classical masterpiece, very fancy. As I've been told, the Wittner metronomes are the best ones of the market, they're expensive too, but it is worth the money. The pieces of the metronome are made of wood and steel, the clockwork is very fine and produces a strong tic-tac. The mechanism can be working for a couple of hours without any problem ... show more
