Quality Radio Ready Sounds. Completely Covers Every Genre of Music Production. Triggers Creativity in Ways and Directions that Cause Musical Eargasms. My Only Gripe is not being able to make my mind up when I’m creating beats. Everytime I find and Sculpt a Sound I like, I find another one that can match everything else in the beat as well. Basically it’s difficult to settle on 1 good sound when you literally have Thousands ... and don’t get me started on effects ... which only multiplies all of the potential possibilities for Sound Design. If you’re a music producer or you’re hoping to make music for commercials or you want to create music for movies ... Komplete 13 is a MUST HAVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... show more

Not much to say, other than it's exactly as advertised. I bought it from Amazon for the financing feature.

  • Truly The Ultimate
style: Ultimate
Native Instruments Komplete 13 Ultimate is the best thing that's ever happened to me as a musician/composer...ok well aside from maybe my 76 Les Paul Custom/Marshall JCM800. NI has been investing in superb sounding instruments and samples for long enough now to have matured into the most excellent sounding library that exists, in my humble opinion. I've had single NI plugins like Absynth, always thought they were different, better, brilliant. I've just had a taste here and there. This. Is. Awesome. Not just for the amount of plugins, effects, excellent samples/instruments. Because they all sound excellent, organic, and have magically captured that ever elusive soul in the machine. Harmonic overtones, and musical as anything that has ever been called a VST library. Drums (among the multiple sample instruments, interface. and engines for them) have subtleties in variation that let them "breath, flow, rock, and groove" in ways I've never experienced in the box. Into real live acoustic instrument territory. Beyond just sticking a compressor on that and calling it passable...there's life in these articulate samples before you layer anything on them. To the point a MIDI piano roll rivals a sampled live drummer haunted magic beat you captured on cassette tape in that practice space years ago somehow. It's that good. Now laying down a quick beat with pads or keys is thrilling. This goes for all the other instruments. This entire collection is filled with the first virtual instruments I've ever been able to honestly call "organic and natural" They not only sound good, they FEEL good. Even the ones that are decidedly unnatural synthesis, or what a fender amp sounds like parked just above a black hole event horizon, with a bass going through a fuzz pedal. Elements fall together into the mix effortlessly. There are thousands of presets, one can easily quickly edit the most fundamental components of the sound and effects...then drill down to finite filter changes, resonance, and other inventive parameters. Sure you can do this with other libraries./DAW. But...all are somehow predictably musical, all are somehow predictably great here. That's the real difference here from others, others I still like and use, this is insane inspiring goodness 5000. If you are used to well...everything else, there is a slight learning curve, but once you get it, it's incredibly inspiring in smashing songs and ideas together. As a sound module in your DAW, excellent too. I should have done this a long time ago. It's worth MORE than it's considerable cost. If you want to easily take what's trapped in your mind (in any genre, including new ones you aspire to create) and hear that bloom with epic ambience, boom with righteous gut kicking authority, and/or bap with sublime attack in your headphones and monitors...this is the ultimate. ... show more

  • Enjoying making music again.

After taking several years off of playing music, NativeInstruments has been great to work with getting my rig updated. I've not got Machine MK incorporated (and controlling) my other midi instruments, and the variety of sound possibilities in the Komplete 13 Ultimate upgrade is honestly a little intimidating. After so many years away there were a few issues with my licenses, Native-Instruments chat and email support walked me through it all. Just getting started with all the features and sounds so I can't review those yet, but NI has been great to this point. ... show more

  • Almost Too Much
style: Komplete 13
I've only had it for a week, but I have used NI instruments before. Same quality I have come to expect and I love having all of the programs on a drive as backup and for easy installation. Reaktor, Massive, Battery, Kontakt, Guitar Rig 6, Absynth (a fav) and FM8 (also a fav) are included along with lots of addon libraries and even building tools for really diving in deep. Along with my purchase of IK Multimedia's Total Studio MAX 3 (for the same price), I consider it the best $1,200 spent of 2021 and I think I'm going to be busy and happy for quite some time. (I did spend about $2,500 on some guitars and basses, but that's a different kind of happiness). I'm writing my review early because with all of this, once I go into the cave for the winter, I doubt that I will be writing much here. **Note** This drive only comes with the installers and addons. It does not run the program directly. You must register a Native Access account, download the Native Access program and log into it. Then you enter the serial that comes on a card with the drive. Then you will be presented with the programs and addons for installation on the drive of your choosing. I have chosen to install the Libraries to a WD Black Gaming USB Drive at 4TB. I store the User Files in My Documents and the synths (Stand Alone and vsti) on my SSD C drive. Native Access allows you to chose where you would like the various files stored. Once you have done that, Access will give you a list of all of the synths and packages you can install. It's pretty straightforward. Any updates will be downloaded from the Internet after the original install, so you may want to make sure you are connected before starting any. You also want to consider leaving your VSTi's in the Native Instruments folder they install to and add those folders to the plugins in your DAW. I have heard of people having problems after installing them to their normal VST folders and not being able to find them in their DAWs. I use Acoustica Mixcraft 9, Reaper 6.38, Acid Pro 10, MPC Beats, and Roland ZENbeats. So far I've had no troubles with anything even after upgrading to Windows 11. A note on documentation; which you will need if you plan on getting serious with this set. Most of the libraries come with pdf documents that you can access from the main instrument's menu. But the main instruments do not. However, having your Native Access account on the web, you can access all of the documentation you need for any of the main VSTi. One of the coolest is Reaktor Blocks, which allows you to go into Reaktor like a modular, but even modify or build actual modules for it. I have not torn into it yet very deeply, but for the DIY types, it's going to be Shangri-La! I've done this in Voltage Modular and it's always a blast. Though I have not built anything useful, what I have been able to add on to my 40 years of knowledge about synthesis has been invaluable. That's almost worth the price alone. I can recommend both Suites to everyone deeply involved in music. However if you are an EDM person, DJ, or just serious Electronic Music creator, I would recommend the NI Suite. Everything that comes with it is beautiful and you can really make it your own if you are willing to put in the work. For my work, I need a combination of studio steady (IKM) and creative madness (NI) to do what I do. That said, if I could only pick one, it would be this one. Happy creating, stay well, stay safe and keep creating! ... show more
