  • Accurate, but could be easier to read
I've tried a variety of home blood pressure cuffs and this is definitely my favorite. My first was one with a unit that would sit on a table, then the hose connection to the actual cuff. Solid, accurate, but a clunky pain that made me less likely to check my blood pressure (I have treatment resistant, idiopathic hypertension so frequent checks are smart). Second one was a handy little wrist unit, but accuracy was a little hit and miss and it was very finicky about positioning. This is best of the first two. Normal BP cuff positioning so that part is easy, but a light and slim package that makes it a breeze to use. I'm not taking a star off for it, but in the effort to design pretty, Apple-esque devices, the result has been a screen that isn't super readable. I'm young so no big deal, but I could see older folks having some difficulty with reading their results. Otherwise, I'm definitely loving it and think it's been a worthwhile splurge (because let's face it, this is definitely the priciest consumer BP cuff around). ... show more

  • Must place blue tooth device in correct spot
I'm just a normal user like you. I wasn't sent this unit to review. I purchased it for the reporting feature since I currently track everything in Excel for my doctors and I wanted an easier way to track my blood pressure for my doctors. Like you, I just took a stab at it and purchased it not knowing if it would work well or not. Especially since all the reviews were mostly terrible. However, keep reading... This product is completely accurate. For any person reviewing the unit, even if a doctor reviews it and says it is not accurate, they do not have the blue tooth device placed correctly on their arm. This is why the readings are off. This is technology and not every person knows how to use the technology properly. Keep this in mind when reading the reviews. Now here is my actual review of the unit. I have a blood pressure machine here that is very accurate. It is not the BPM connect. I compared it against my doctors manual test of my blood pressure a few years ago. It matches very closely what my doctor gets in office. The BPM connect perfectly matches the readings on this other unit. In fact, it is so close the differences are not even worth noting. Honestly maybe a point difference here and there but for the most part they match perfectly. I have to test my blood pressure allot throughout the day because I am a stage 5 kidney failure patient so I take this very seriously. I fully trust the readings of the BPM connect and plan to use it exclusively moving forward. This unit is great! I plan to use the report feature to send my readings to my nephrologist. If you decide to purchase this unit, and if you get strange readings, understand that you have to place the blue tooth device on an exact spot on your arm for it to read accurately. Once you find that spot, you repeat placing the blue tooth device on that spot each time and you will get accurate readings. A tip - I do not separate the Velcro arm band. I keep it snugly in place and in the shape of my arm. I give it enough room to slide off and on just above my elbow so it is not super tight, but moderately tight. This permits me to line up the blue tooth device perfectly where it needs to be on my arm so I get accurate readings each time. Do not separate the Velcro arm band each time and have to constantly keep adjusting it. This can cause you to have the blue tooth device in different spots each time you measure. Memorize the spot where you get accurate readings and simply put the blue tooth device in that spot each time and you will be fine. You may have to play a little to find the sweet spot but trust me, it works fine when you find that spot. Note: I have the button that you press to turn it on and get your reading pointing towards the direction of my elbow. It is not pointing towards the back of my arm towards my arm pit. I also have this button centered on the inside of my arm. The blue tooth device is not on top where my bicep is located. It is in the center of the inside of my arm. Keep adjusting the blue tooth device around this area until you get an accurate reading. Then just place the blue tooth device in that spot each time and you will be fine. ... show more

  • Beware of inaccurate readings and NO ability to return for a refund plus horrid app
Like I always do when I get a new medical device such as a blood pressure cuff I bring it along with me to my doctor so I can calibrate its accuracy to make sure the readings are within acceptable limits. Based on the readings I may or may not have to take very strong blood pressure medications to rapidly drop my pressure when it's over 200, but if I take this medication when my blood pressure isn't high enough it not only can but has caused me to pass out leading to a whole 911 situation when my wife freaks out. This cuff is wildly inaccurate! I'm not talking about a 10 or 12-point difference, but much much more than that. My doctor suggested I get another cuff so I started a return and to my surprise, this sad excuse for a company does not accept any returns for blood pressure cuffs! Fine. Keep my $120 nothing I can do about it, but know this Withings any and every chance I get I will do my level best to keep people from falling prey to your predatory sales practices. That you can believe in! We also purchased your $99 scale and it's going back just as soon as I've finished this review. You won't ever get my business again. Since I'm stuck keeping the cuff let me review it based on what I know so far. Accuracy at least for me is an easy 1 star. Ease of use is also a 1 star because the Withings app is one of the most difficult apps to navigate that I've ever had to use. I got so lost that I finally admitted defeat and went to their help section so I could talk to someone and can you believe you actually have to schedule a time for someone to call you back?! And that's not even the worst part! It's 3/1/24 right now and the soonest "appointment" to get product help was at the very end of the month!!! Talk about a red flag. The cuff is easy enough to use. Just strap it on with the Withings logo level to your heart and press a button. Its absolutely not easy to read though - at least not on the cuff itself. The LEDs are dim and don't stay on long enough to get an idea of the readings plus they use some funky LED font that makes it even more difficult, but I only resorted to trying to read the cuff information because the alternative and I suppose the entire point of this cuff is to have the data show up in the app, but again the app is sad beyond anything I've used. I guess the bottom line is if this cuff seems good for you just know that once shipped - good, bad, or ugly - you own it. I would recommend before purchasing to go download the Withings app so you can see what I'm talking about before it's too late. ... show more
