  • Excellent product.
Style: Monitor w/ Small Cuff + AC Power Adapter
This blood pressure monitor is just what I was looking for. It has a Small cuff size, which is perfect for my arm (I'm 4'10" and weigh 84 lbs). It is very quiet and very easy to use. The reading is accurate. I got basically the same reading at the doctor's office. It uses 4 AA batteries, plus a detachable power cord. The power cord is a nice option in case I happen to run out of batteries. The price is very reasonable. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. ... show more

  • Solid and Straightforward
Style: Monitor w/ Small Cuff + AC Power Adapter
Easy to use, feels well-made. I was so happy to find a good monitor with a small cuff as I have thin arms. It will be interesting to compare to doc’s BP monitor cuz they always use the large size on me and, from all I read, that wouldn’t give an accurate result.

  • Nice machine for the money.
Style: Monitor w/ Small Cuff
The cuff could be just a tad wider to make it easier to handle by yourself. Otherwise, it’s great and accurate.

  • does not give accurate readings
Style: Monitor w/ Small Cuff + AC Power Adapter
I had a nice Omron monitor but then I lost 45 pounds and it became too big for my arm. (A cuff that only went down to 9 inches was giving me unreliable results, and my old monitor did not support interchangeable cuffs.) So I had to buy a new one. I went with this one because it offered either battery or AC power, and because of the cuff size. Well, the cuff does fit me, even though I am at the upper end of the size range for this monitor. There was enough overlap of the Velcro part that the cuff inflated in a way that seemed proper. I have mostly been using it on battery power. I have not had any trouble using the cuff; it is pretty standard for this type of device (I've had 4 or 5 different home monitors at this point). The problem is, the readings from this are totally inaccurate. I had it checked at my doctor's office. Diastolic was kind of similar but it was reading the systolic pressure more than 10 points lower than what the nurse was getting with the manual device (sorry, I don't know what they're called). This is a big concern for anyone who is worried about hypertension. You could think you were fine, if you went by this, but you might actually be nearing a hypertension danger zone. It is also a problem if you are on a prescription for blood pressure medicine, as you would have no idea whether the medicine was working or not, or whether your dosage was correct. It is also impossible to tell if the error is linear or follows some curve. So while I can take blood pressures and add 10 or 12 points to the systolic pressure to get a rough idea, I don't know whether adding that 10 or 12 points is appropriate when I get 101/60 (after a dose of medication that was probably too high, so I've been directed by my doctor to cut back) versus when I get 140/90. The differential could be more or less, and the diastolic pressure could also have a differential that I don't even know about. Since I have recently started a hypertension medication, this knowledge is essential. Ordinarily I would give more stars for this fitting and for ease of use, but a device that gives the incorrect blood pressure is useless to me, regardless of the other features. (This is not old or worn out, I've had it less than three months, actually.) ... show more

  • Portable blood pressure monitor
Style: Monitor w/ Small Cuff
This is our second one. Really like ease of use and large display. Wish it was sold with a medium size cuff, or option to order a bigger cuff with the monitor.

  • Size Small Cuff/Unit - Excellent for Smaller/Petite People
Style: Monitor w/ Small Cuff
I purchased the UA-767 Plus with the small arm cuff and it is a great product. The box comes with instructions and a 'Quick Start' card which also contains tips on how to take your blood pressure (i.e. sit in the same chair/position, take BP at the same time daily, etc.). There is also a 'Healthy Heart Packet' (written in English, French, and Spanish) which is a little book with information on the warranty, tips, and a little log you can write down your BP recordings 3 times a day for 5 weeks. You can also download and print logs I think off the Life Source website (or a basic internet search will probably get you a good log template). The unit takes 4 AA batteries and it is easy to set up the date, year, month, and time. However, if you are a bit shaky or have difficulty with physical movement, the button to set the date and time is a bit small and is located on the left side of the unit. The big button that says 'M' is the memory button is large, as is the 'Start' button. Once the battery is installed, the time and battery life will remain on the screen. The time on the screen is in 12 hours and not 24 hours ('military time') - the unit will display 4:30 PM and not 16:30. If you purchase an AC adapter (sold separately) you can just hook it up to an electric plug instead of using batteries. There are 3 colored panels on the side to indicate if you are hypertensive, pre-hypertensive, or normal. There are also 2 heart icons. One is a solid heart which indicates it is deflating (I think!)..but there is a 2nd heart icon that is not solid black and it will appear on the screen ONLY when there is an irregularity in your heart beat. There is a note in the instruction booklet that if there is irregularity in your heart beat, it might be a good idea to check in with your physician if the non-solid heart icon appears frequently. I'm very petite and have very small arms and the size small cuff works perfectly. At the hospital, the nurses always take my pressure using the children's arm cuff instead of the regular adult size which I think is probably a default medium. ... show more
