  • If you need a bug net, this is about as good as it gets.
Color: Black
I've owned this one for about 3 months and used it extensively in that 3 months. Between fishing hiking and camping I have zero concerns about it giving up on me for at least a couple years unless I randomly fall out of my hammock or something stupid happens. I've owned the cheaper ones I've owned the expensive ones. Don't buy the cheap ones and don't buy the expensive ones, just buy this one. You won't be disappointed. One recommendation I have for exceptionally hot days is to run a line on the inside of your hammockk separate and hang a small fan from it IF there is no wind. ... show more

  • Easy to use
Color: Black
Very easy setup and takedown. The net is secured to the ridgeline with clips that are the perfect size for 550 paracord. Tightens around the straps of the hammock to prevent bugs getting in. If the ends are loosened, it can slip right over a parachute hammock, making it easy to remove without a full takedown if bugs aren't attacking at the time. ... show more

  • Good bug net, but difficult to get out of.
Color: Blue
Used this bug net with my ENO Singlenest hammock during a week-long camping trip. It was easy to add into my hammock setup, reasonably light, and it did a fantastic job keeping bugs off of me. My only issue with the big net is that it can be difficult to get out of. Unlike many built-in nets on hammocks, entrance and exit is done through a center zipper, rather than attaching to the side of the hammock. While it feels spacious when laying down in the hammock, when you sit up there is not much head room (I’m 5’11” for reference). Each morning exiting the hammock felt like an acrobatic exercise, which is not something you want to be doing with a full bladder. The zipper itself was sometimes difficult to zip up, but this may be human error rather than a problem with the hammock. Overall it’s a good product with one minor issue that can be dealt with. ... show more

  • Very nearly perfect
Color: Blue
I use this with my Wise Owl Outfitters Flare underquilt and Doubleowl hammock for both camping (backpacking and drive-in camp sites) and for sleeping in my back yard. This net accommodates a diagonal lay in my double hammock, but ends up with my outside elbow pressed against the mesh. Mosquitoes CAN bite through the mesh, so (after getting 17 bites at my elbow in one night) I make sure to line that edge of the hammock with a bit of sleeping bag or wear a sweatshirt. This net is far better than one attached to the top side of a hammock because I can sleep without a sleeping bag or underquilt without getting bitten through the bottom of the hammock. Set-up- Very easy. Just string the included line between the trees the hammock will hang from, hook the net, then feed the hammock ends through the ends of the net, from the inside. Tighten the draw-cords and you're done. At the height I hang things, the bottom of the net hits the ground, but I lay a bathmat underneath it to protect the net from the ground and where I leave my shoes at night. Leaving my shoes directly under the hammock protects them from dew. This net works both on trees of varying girths and distances, and on my hammock stand. The line that comes with the bug net is generously long, so it can handle quite a span if need be. Pack-up- If I'm not traveling, I leave the hammock inside the bug net and stuff both into a pillowcase to store with my camping gear. Rope for the net and tree straps for the hammock fit nicely into the bug net bag so they don't get tangled with the carabiners, and they don't get misplaced since the bag is attached to the net. For traveling, the net and rope fit easily into the attached bag, and the buckled strap can be used to compress the bag and attach it to a backpack. Durability- After a year of frequent use, the zipper still works perfectly and has only snagged on the mesh a handfull of times without causing any rips. I'm careful with it, though, so not sure how it would hold up in the hands of someone less cautious (i.e. a child or distracted teen). There are a few tiny pills in the body of the net, just from the friction of use and repeated packing/unpacking, but no holes. The hooks are all still securely attached and all the seams and stitching are intact. Improvements- It's really great as-is, and my suggestions would increase weight and size so maybe not appropriate for backpacking. It would be great to have a spreader bar at one end to keep the net off my elbow so I could sleep without a sleeping bag or sweatshirt on hot nights. I'd love to have a zipper on both sides, just for the sake of laziness and not having to think about which way the net is hung. A small, reinforced area in the "floor" might be nice to take shoes, and maybe a pet, inside the net, and also to protect the dangling edge from the ground. Aside from all that, I love this net. It's the best I've found so far, and the price is remarkably reasonable. ... show more

  • Works well but not perfect with Eno Nomad stand
Color: Green
This net works well with the Eno Nomad hammock stand. It is a great addition and totally worth the price. I set up the stand legs then slid the entire net over the ridgepole. I tucked the hanging straps into the net and cinched the net tight (see pic) to keep bugs out. The only negative is the attached stuff sack and a bit of the net will touch the ground when the hammock is empty. Normally the stuff sack would hang below the net but I flipped it inside the net and zipped hard against it to keep bugs out. With the stuff sack flipped into the net (see pic) nothing touches the ground while someone is in the hammock. I will be using the stuff sack compression straps to clip the net to the ridgepole while the hammock is empty to prevent the wind and ground from snagging the net. It was satisfying to see mosquitos bouncing up the sides of the net while I tested the setup. My afternoon was bite free! ... show more

  • Great bug net, weird size!
Color: Black
When I first set of the bug net along with my wise how hammock and rain fly. I noticed that while I was hanging it about 6 ft off the ground no it was still touching the ground! It was roomy and spacious however, and I like how well it fit with my other wise owl products! Overall 4.5/5

  • Perfect for outdoor hammocking!
Color: Blue
I really enjoy this bug net when camping. It not only helps keep out bugs, but also the wind which is nice. Setup is a little more involved, but easy to use once it's ready.

  • Good quality, needs a larger storage bag
Color: Black
The fly is of good quality and it’s the right size to do the job. Cons: - the bag it comes in is too small. Once you fold it back up, it’s impossible to get back in the bag - mine came with no stakes. - novices will need better instructions for set up.

  • No bugsfor me.
Color: Black
Set this up on the 3rd night of camp without mass inside the hammock the sides touched. However, after I climbed in the hammock contoured to me and the net took form and gave me room. Easy in easy out. Would recommend this and Wise Owl for all of your hammocking needs.

  • Well thought out design for use with the WiseOwl hammock.
Color: Red
The attached bag is large enough to also hold the hammock, allowing you to leave the hammock threaded through the net. This means you can setup and get away from the bugs very quickly. I am starting a 6 week motorcycle trip through Canada and Alaska, where this could prove invaluable. I plan to use the ridgeline with a 3x3 tarp. I noticed fabric loops inside the net at each clip location. These should prove convenient for lighting and light gear storage. I will update this review mid summer after field testing it on the road. ... show more

  • Comfortable
Color: Black
I like that it is Very Good Quality. The only thing I don't like is that the bug net doesn't zip to the hammock it just hangs over it. Overall this is a very nice hammock and the price is well worth it. I bought 2 this one I returned and I kept the 1 wind hammock because it has a net that zips up along the sides . The straps on the wise owl hammoare definitely better. I would highly recommend it. It's very nice and comfortable I wish it came in camo ... show more

  • Good quality, great packaging, but VERY small. Does NOT fit double nest.
Color: Blue
As far as quality and packaging, it’s a really nice product. Looks great. Feels great. However, the size was incredibly small. I was very disappointed to find it doesn’t even come close to wrapping even respectably around the sides of my double nest. I would not purchase the product again as is but if it were available in a size to fit a double nest I would. ... show more

  • Highly recommend!
Color: Black
I’ve been a tent camper but decided to try hammock camping since I heard it can be cooler than tents for hot nights. I have the Wise Owl double hammock that’s going 1 yr strong of constant use so I decided to stick with Wise Owl for the bug net and rain tarp. The bug net is more affordable than other hammock brands too. Set-up is so incredibly easy and I watched their short YouTube video on it before using it. I’ve used it for multiple overnight camping and it’s been wonderful. The mosquitos and horse flies during the summer are relentless, but I’m safe inside my hammock. This set-up is also better than the hammocks that come with a bug net sewn onto them as those tend to sink onto you. This stays propped away from me all the way around. I thought the material would be a little rough, but it’s actually very soft to the touch. Like the hammock, the bug net’s containment bag is attached at the center so you don’t have to worry about where you place it after setting up the net. Hammock camping has been a life changer. I don’t have to worry about damp grounds and my backpack has gotten significantly lighter. Set-up is also faster than a tent (for me at least). Unsure if I’ll stick to hammock camping in the winter, but it’s now definitely my summer go-to. I’m going to look into Wise Owl’s underquilt to add to my collection. Some tips: • Be careful with any mildly sharp objects you may have. They can get caught on the net and possibly tear it a bit. The net is very fine and soft, and does seem to snag easily. I haven’t torn mine but some snagging from my watch or jacket zippers has happened. • The netting, while very fine and good at preventing small bugs, isn’t fully breathable. Meaning that it is warmer inside of it as not much breeze gets through. This is good for cooler weather since it helps insulate heat, but isn’t great for the hottest days. • Highly recommend watching their YouTube tutorial and practice setting it up in your backyard or at a park before committing to camping in it. ... show more
