First off, I am not an avid camper, and I have zero experience with hammocks, so take this review in that light! If you really need technical details, there are plenty of reviews which is part of the reason I bought this! We're going on a camping trip soon in the woods, and I figured a hammock might be fun to have. So that was the only reason for this purchase. - Was happy to learn that Wise Owl Outfitters is a USA company, even if the hammock itself is manufactured in China. I'm sure this keeps the price down considerably, but at least part of my purchase was supporting a domestic product. - This is an incredibly compact and lightweight hammock! Well, not that I have much comparison. And if you really don't need the heavy duty carabiners, you could make it even more light weight. But it stuffs into its included stuff sac really well, making it easy to pack! And it's awesome that the stuff sac is attached to the hammock itself. - The carabiners are tough! Heavy duty and very securely attached to each end of the hammock. I was also very pleased to find two 6', heavy duty ropes with various "holes" to adjust your span across trees. I hadn't even reasearched what ropes were included, and two 6' ones seemed generous but very handy! - Easy install! We tested this out in our backyard and had it up in minutes! - Well made hammock! The parachute material seems very tough, but is very soft. The seams are triple-stitched. I'm an average-sized adult and was quite comfy. I could easily nap in it! I felt supported and cozy. - Con: Cocoon-like for a child (see pic). I found that as an adult, it didn't cocoon around me so much (at least not uncomfortably, but my 8 yr old was definitely cocooned inside. However, he liked it that way, so not sure if it's a con or just a comment! LOL - My understanding is that this is significantly less expensive than some other brand. I have no knowledge of that. However, for a fun camping or backyard hammock, I found this well-made, high-quality, and inexpensive! ... show more

Love this hammock, works great for camping, or just lounging around the house. It packs down in a very small convenient size. Light weight, and very breathable. For the price I payed I plan on buying a few more as back ups, or loaners. I have not looked to see if they offer a longer size yet, I am 6’5” and would love to find this in a slightly longer size just for extra room, but this standard size will work for now! ... show more

This seriously exceeded all of my expectations. I got it because me and my young daughter go hiking nearly everyday, and I wanted to get this to be able to stop and rest to enjoy the scenery and read some books together. It’s sturdy, super easy to set up, and easy to pack away. While I only intended to use this while I’m out hiking or camping, I seriously bring this thing wherever i go now! I live in an apartment complex, so outdoor furniture is extremely limited. I bring this with me and set it up right in my complex so my daughter and I can swing together and read! She loves it just as much as me; it keeps her entertained for so long! I absolutely cannot recommend this product enough, I know we’ll be getting so much use out of it. I’m like 280lbs and my girlfriend is 100lbs. We both lay in the hammock and even sleep for hours at the park and it doesn’t budge, I bring my phone and keys in and it doesn’t tear easy. It is fast and easy to assemble and packs away very easily.
