I used this to cover a window and a wine refrigerator see-through glass door. When you measure this, it needs to be cut just a little bit smaller than the area you are putting it on so it adheres to the surface tightly without any edges curling up. Once you get your piece cut then it is a matter of applying it to the surface. The instructions advise using a spray bottle with water and a little dish soap. I washed my surfaces down first just to make sure there wasn’t anything that would cause the vinyl to bubble. I took a hand towel and folded it up so I could place it at the bottom of the project because the water will run once you spray the surface. There is a film on the back of the vinyl that needs to be peeled back and if you peel it down about halfway and placed the top on first, then start rubbing across and down the vinyl as you press it down the window. That way you can work the bubbles out as you go instead of having to come back and work them out. The back of the vinyl is a little sticky so if you leave part of the film on, it won’t get wet and Your fingers won’t remove the stick’em on the vinyl. I put the black rainbow film on my daughters window because it faces the street, it also gets direct afternoon sun and today we realize it has broken our window in several places, the only thing holding it together is the film so please be mindful of where you are putting it.

My daughter door is glass. This product is easy to use and sticks in well. My problem was probably user error but cutting for each pain left holes in the corner. My solution was to put it on the other side of the door also. Now nobody can peek in her room.

This worked as I wanted to blackout the window on my door. It does not sparkle like the photo shows unless you’re really close to it, and even then it needs direct sunlight and it’s faint. Aesthetically, if you primarily want the sparkle look-don’t get this; but if you want the blackout get it. It is not transparent. It’s easy to install and cut. It sticks very well. It’s easy to maintain and clean. It doesn’t have a weird smell when you open it either. I would use it again for blackout only, but the thumbnail is misleading in my opinion. ... show more

I'm giving 4/5 because I looked at the image of the "black" that looked like crackled colors. This is only a decorative embossing on the side you view. IT DOES NOT ALLOW ANY LIGHT THROUGH. This is ok, I'm a night shifter. My fiancé was hoping for something more "pretty" and translucent. It's ok, but you'd be just as well to buy plain black vinyl. Don’t let the photo fool you. This is not transparent at all. It is 100% light blocking. Reason for one star is that the material is beyond frustrating to work with. Tried to cut with a razor blade and the cut runs away from the blade, creating an uneven edge. This looked so bad on my window, I threw it straight into the trash. ... show more
