This is a nice roof rack at this price point. It will only mount to existing roof bars, will NOT mount to rain-gutters. Pieces together easily enough. Directions are simple and straight forward. Curiously, they include a tube of graphite grease, or anti-seize grease, that they recommend you use on all connecting parts to inhibit rust. Take this for what it is. Maybe it's prone to rust?? Time will tell. I'm not afraid to use a can of spray paint on it before hand...consider doing this if you have the time and effort. The pieces that mount the rack to the roof bars are a bit snug, but this is likely a positive...as soon as I can muscle them into place. But at this price?? Still a good deal in my eyes. Be sure to measure your roof first and decide if "it will fit". No silly questions about "will this fit _____"...just do some measuring! ... show more

    • Shorter than I expected, but super sturdy... maybe a little tedious to install on a rack

The pieces and parts went together well enough. I did need to use a rubber mallet to get the two halves to come together. The hard part tho, was getting it on the rack system on my car. The rack adapters have two options of how they can be installed and I picked the wrong one first. Ended up taking an extra half hour to figure that out and switch all four to the best direction for my rack. The only problem is that the adapters now have the screw ends facing up into the basket and interfere with a flat surface to lay cargo into. I might need to take an angle grinder to the ends to shorten and flatten them out. The whole thing probably took me an hour to get on my car. The last thing is that I felt like the rack was shorter than expected. It's fairly small for a longer vehicle. Best balanced on a coupe or sedan. ... show more
