The product was as described. I have dealt with these programmable thermostats before. Don't consider myself to be a pro but worked with heating and air conditioning for over 20 years. I love all the features of these stats. We have installed 6 new ones at our church within the last month. In doing so it has saved on utilities by allowing us to control temp parameters and prevent someone from leaving it On. What I really like is that you can password protect the programmed schedule but allow others to change only the temp within ur set temp parameters without password. This is a feature that only this stat has without going to expensive wifi stats. The wifi ones look/easy to work with. But some require app, separate control module for wifi option ($100 or more). Also what if wifi is dwn and some people are not accustomed to apps. I have done a lot of reasearch/calling many companies of all the major brands (Honeywell lux etc) all with same response of needing wifi stats. I wanted a stat that anyone could simply change the temp manuall with only a touch. They are very easy to program especially when u can pull the control module from the wall and go wherever to program. The large digital display is very easy to see and modify. Nice sturdy unit. Bought because we had an older model. The screen went out on it and we had hoped to replace it with this unit. Our old unit was 12-15 years old and had replaceable exposed batteries. With the cover in place on this unit, it didn’t engage in the existing wall mount. Bought a entire new thermostat. Check your old unit to see if it’s compatible. Had ours been compatible we would have loved it! ... show more

This unit replaced the same model I had for seven years. The backlight slowly faded out until I couldn’t read it at night without a flashlight. The new thermostat has an excellent back light, hope it does better than the previous one. The backlight comes on when you touch an icon on the screen, rather then touch anywhere on the front screen, which would better in dim light. The good is the programming is relatively easy as it follows logical steps. It works reliably, accurate temperature readings, easy to read, and looks good. One word of caution when installing: The instructions say pull the body off the base. When looking at the unit it is not obvious what is the body and base portions. Be careful, look closely, it comes apart without removing any screws or using any force. The base (back) snaps off from screen front portion. ... show more

This is our 3rd thermostat. I hope it will be our last. I really like this one. We have only had it for a few months. I love the backlight. And it goes off pretty quick. The customer service was great. He helped me hook up the wiring and to work the menu. I like the auto for heat and AC. You set it for each one and you are set. I set the temperature 2 degrees from heat to cool. Easy to adjust temperature if needed. We didn’t want the model with WiFi. This does have a 7 day programmable function, but we have never used it. Still checking out all the bells and whistles on this thermostat. I like that it tells you how much power left in battery. ... show more

Initially the thermostat for this item never read exactlycorrectly but it only read a few degrees off outside of its manual adjustment range. I assumed it would still work fine to turn the heater off and on manually as we don't use it often. At this point it doesn't even work for that and over time the thermostat has continued to read lower and lower inaccurately. Sounded like a good deal but absolutely not. Picture is of the current temp it reads in a room in the mid 60's. Originally went to replace the item and was not able to, figured I would forego the hassle of returning it and purchasing another different model but I should have. I am now outside of the return range. I know some of that is my fault but after this experience I would not buy a refurbished product again to have it deteriorate into something entirely nonfunctioning over a couple months. This thermostat works great with my heat pump (2 heat / 1 cool). The display is bright and easy to read, and it was easy enough to install (once discovering how my kooky heat pump unit was actually wired). Initial setup required cracking open the manual but setting up the cooling schedule for the days of the week was very straightforward. One of my favorite features is the ability to "dumb down" the model. For instance, I only need two settings per day, not four which is the default. So setting it to two made it quicker and easier to program. Also, there appears to be an option to have one setting for all days of the week (m-f) and then individual settings for saturday and sunday (5-1-1) so that you don't have to worry with individually programming the week days. I'm not using this option but when I reprogram for heat I might turn that on. It's great to have the option to use the full capabilities or only a subset. ... show more
