Took the RH of 63 down to 23RH in 2 days in a 20 foot camper van. Does it quietly too. '33 dB' is about the sound of a quiet computer fan. Good for rainy weather to help prevent mold and rust. Should help preserve the wood. Water float for auto shut off if you forget to empty it. Might as well use it in the bathroom until needed in the RV. I really like this little dehumidifier for my little laundry room. It actually works. Could it remove more moisture? Possibly, but who knows. It is very quiet. It is small, which is perfect because my laundry room is smaller than my bedroom closet. However, there is no easy way to pick it up. There is no recess for fingers or a handle. If it sits on the floor (as mine does) you have to bend all the way down to grasp it with both hands. I've thought about using super glue to add a strap, but I haven't bothered yet. The reservoir holds a good amount of water, far more than ever collects in it, so I don't have to empty it often. I think it was a good choice, and I'm glad I bought it. ... show more

    • I just love this Dehumidifier!
Besides being adorable and contemporary looking, it works fabulously! It pulls a lot of water out of the air in here - I have it working in a rather large room - I am strongly considering getting it a sister or brother to help with the process. Even with the A/C on, it is AMAZING how much water it pulls out of the air. The pan fills in about 2 1/2 -3 days to shutoff. I live in the Northeast near NYC and our humidity at night is 100% nearly every night and often 70-80 during the days .. EVEN if the temps are cool, the humidity is way up this time of year. I do not like humidity. It makes papers limp, tape does not hold on things, papers and pictures curl, the air feels damp and heavy and I don't feel as energetic (all even with the a/c on because this place is not air tight). The Eva-dry Petite Dehumidifier helps, I can FEEL a difference. I love it! It is quiet, but NOT SOUNDLESS, it sounds like a quiet whooosh sound, no buzz, no motor sound, just an airy light whoosh with a bit of barely perceptible mmmmmm to it if I listen closely. If you have zero sound in your home and are near it, you will hear it, otherwise you won't. I have no idea why people have reported it being loud, this unit is certainly whisper quiet. It is EXACTLY what I expected and wanted! **EDIT - August 1 2011** My Eva-Dry Petite is still going strong! It does a fantastic job! It's had some noisier moments, and I gently tap it on the back and it quiets down again. It is pulling water out of the air like crazy (very humid summer here this year) It is filling in about 1-2 days on average. I had high hopes with this product after reading the positive reviews. However after 3 days I am returning the unit. In those 3 days, I had it running 24 hours a day in my small RV bathroom. In that time I got just over 3/4 cup of water. I ran a larger dehumidifier in the bathroom for 4 hours and got 2 cups of water. I also want to point out that we took multiple showers during the 3 days of the small humidifier but none during the 4 hours of the other dehumidifier. When you run the numbers over a week's time this unit should pull around 1 3/4 to 2 cups over 7 days. While this sounds great my other dehumidifier pulled that same amount in 4 hours. Obviously I have a lot of water in this room (as I keep a very close eye on my humidity) and obviously my other dehumidifier is much bigger, louder and stronger. However what I care about is a product that works. I need a product that keeps the walls dry and this failed miserably (even in a very tiny room 5 x 6 1/2 x 8). This unit is good for someone who does not have a humidity problem and wants a quiet (yes its very quiet) product that will make the air just a tiny bit dryer. This is not a product for someone that needs a dehumidifier to keep the walls from getting moisture damage. I gave this unit 1 star because I used it for exactly what they described it should be used for and it just does not have enough power to do what the job they describes it will. I don't even know how this unit could have done some of the things other people have claimed considering my room is as small as it gets and is obviously very wet as evidenced by the 2 cups I pulled in 4 hours. I hate to say it but this might be one of those items with false reviews paid for by the company to boost sales. The picture shows water pulled from this dehumidifier in 3 days on the right (3/4 cup). The 2 cups on the left came from my other dehumidifier in just 4 hours. ... show more
