The WEN 4500-Watt Electric Start Inverter Generator produces clean energy free of voltage spikes and drops without all of the noise of a regular generator. Generate up to 4500 surge watts and 3500 rated watts of power. Our 212cc 4-stroke air-cooled OHV engine operates at an extremely quiet 58 decibels at quarter load and 57 decibels at no load, about as quiet as a window air conditioner or the average conversation. This limits its invasiveness while hunting, camping, tailgating and restoring back-up power. The keyless electric start lets you turn on your generator at the press of a button, and includes a recoil pull starter as backup. The WEN 4500W Inverter Generator is also equipped with fuel shutoff. This feature turns off the flow of fuel, allowing the generator to use up the remaining fuel from the carburetor before automatically shutting down. This helps fight the build-up and blockages caused by stagnant fuel inside of the carburetor, minimizing maintenance while prolonging the unit’s lifespan. Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe for laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other vulnerable electronics. The lightweight design along with the built-in wheels and folding handle make for easy portability while the ultra-efficient 2.2-gallon tank provides up to 8.5 hours of half-load run time. Our fully-packed panel comes equipped with two 3-prong 120V standard household receptacles, one RV-ready AC 120V 30A NEMA TT-30R receptacle, one 12V DC receptacle, two 5V USB ports and an easy-to-read digital fuel and load display. Maximize fuel economy by engaging the Eco-Mode switch. This inverter generator is absolutely the best value I could find anywhere. It was delivered in 4 days from UPS. They did an excellant job, the box had no damage, it looked like it was just taken off a shelf. I unpacked it and followed the directions to get it running. I was very impressed at how quiet this generator runs. At full throttle without the eco throttle on, I could have a normal conversation with my wife while standing right next to it. With the eco throttle on, it was even quieter. I have a Honda eu2000 inverter that is super quiet, but I think the Wen is even more quiet! I was amazed. It easily ran my rv 15k ac unit, the fridge, and any lights I wanted to have on. I was apprehensive about the quality, but it feels very well built, sturdy, and solid. The engine starts easily and just purrs. Our elevation is 7500', and it had no issues without the high altitude kit installed. We've used this generator for a total of five nights so far, I also start it and let it run for about an hour once per month. It has performed flawlessly. We used it to power our small travel trailer while we slept at interstate rest stops during a three day trip across the country. The unit was quiet, and only burned about 2/3's of a tank of gas (a tank holds about two gallons I believe). It had no trouble powering the microwave or our TV, in addition to my wife's CPAP machine. If you are not going to be using it to capacity (in the middle of the night with no AC or electric heat), you can run it in ECO mode which makes it twice as quiet and I would imagine make the fuel last longer. I also ran the generator during a power outage one night here at our campsite. It ran consistently through a very heavy thunderstorm, through rain and wind it just kept purring along. I bought the DF4500i for camping, emergency back up and other miscellaneous tasks outdoors where electricity isn't available. It has met or exceeded my expectations on noise. It is/was far quieter than I was expecting. At 100 pounds, it's heavy but more than manageable. The handle and wheels are nice, well thought out. I read the instruction manual, added gas and oil and it started on the second pull. I also ordered the magnetic dipstick, good investment. I ran it with real light and varying loads for an hour and changed the oil. I added more load on and off for 5 hours and changed the oil again. I repeated that again for 5 more hours and this time the magnetic dipstick was clean. I changed the oil again, added fresh fuel with stabilizer and the generator is ready for it's next mission. My only suggestion is to look at WEN website before ordering on Amazon, cut out the middle man. I would've saved almost $100 with tax and sale price had I done so. I tried to cancel my order from Amazon to purchase the generator directly from WEN. Amazon wouldn't cancel my order as it was already in "pre-shipment" status. Edit: After 275 hours in the generator, I cannot complain. It has worked flawlessly on both gasoline and propane. It has banged away 24 hours a day for 4 weekends straight without a single hiccup. I cannot believe how quiet this generator is. Tons of power and features. Goes soooooo long on a tank of gas even on full blast. I’m that guy that’s left old gas in generators before and I love the option that it burns the remaining fuel before shutting off. You can skip it also. Handle is great for pulling and surprisingly strong. Powered large air compressor, electric saws and a heater. I have no doubt it will power freezers/fridge etc when power goes out. I’ve had several high end expensive generators over the years, this one beats them all and the price was to good to pass up. Great job WEN ... show more

I use my generator on my off-grid property for camping in a camper trailer and for running power equipment on the property for projects and maintenance. I realized that my smaller portable generator wasn't producing enough power to properly run my equipment, I was reluctant to replace it because it was so quiet and fuel efficient. I did make the decision to purchase this because I didn't want to ruin my equipment by running it underpowered. I thought that I would use the bigger generator to run the equipment that needed more power and use the smaller one when I didn't need that much power, (Again, my concern was noise). After I fired this one up and started using it I was extremely surprised that it was actually quieter than my smaller one. I tested this generator with a full load consisting of: the air conditioner, the microwave, the coffee maker and charging my Ecoflow power station all at the same time. It handled it with no problem, I actually think that I could have added a few more things but under normal conditions I would never be using that much power.     • Works well but horrendous prep

Had to use this today. First power failure since we bought it. It works well and did exactly with its supposed to, also pretty quiet. The preparation however was incredibly bad. It’s almost impossible to put in oil. You’re adding oil to a flexible tube rather than a normal filter point, you have to keep it elevated or it pours out again and the actual hole in the tube is way too small for any funnel I was able to find. End result is it takes much longer than it should and there’s plenty of unavoidable spillage. Secondly, connecting the battery. This is easy enough to do but there’s no way of getting the cover back on afterwards, it simply doesn’t fit once the wires are connected. I ended up with the cover sort of back on but bowed. It gets four stars for working well once it’s set up. Loses a start for the ridiculous prep. ... show more
