Got this after visiting my sister recently and using hers. It was the first time I had used a weighted blanket and I slept so well! Once home, I had to get one. This thing arrived quickly and was well worth it. It is nice and heavy. I debated between the 30 lb vs. 25 lb and opted for the 25. I was worried it wouldn't be heavy enough for two people. But, it indeed it. Despite being a "Queen" size that we ordered, it is smaller than our "Queen" comforter/duvet. While it covers the bed, there is no hanging off the sides. So, I do believe this runs smaller than the average "Queen' measurements.... unless that is how these are supposed to fit? It does get warm, but not uncomfortably. The weighted embrace it gives is very comforting. I have noticed that I do continue to sleep better or am much more at ease while watching TV with it. My anxiety, definitely seems to "calm down". Well made, great item. I did get a duvet cover to put over it as we do have cats and since you can't throw these weighted blankets into a washer/dryer, you will need a way to keep fur off of it. Due to the weight at hand of the blanket, I will most likely need help putting the duvet on, so that is the next chore in taking care of this item! ... show more

This is a great blanket, it distributes the weight well and feels like a giant hug. My only complaint is that it is about impossible to wash so I suggest buying some type of duvet cover or something similar. It has held up great and definitely worth the money.

I am a hot sleeper and was pleasantly surprised at how cool this stays. I love the weight. It relaxes me and calms my anxiety. I sleep really well with it on. The material is very soft. The price is fantastic - years ago weighted blankets were so expensive. My kids love curling up under it too. The only one who doesn't like it is my small dog - it's too heavy for her to get under the covers. ... show more

Last year (in 2018) I bought my team of tech recruiters Harry and David Gift Baskets as holiday gifts, and they all loved them. I wanted to do something different for the team in 2019. So while walking through Costco a few weeks ago I saw a weighted blanket for sale. I didn't buy it, but the idea of weighted blankets stayed on my mind over the next two weeks. Then it hit me. Weight blankets would be the perfect holiday gift for my team this year! They're interesting, unique, useful, unexpected, and something they could have for a very long time. So I jumped on Amazon and started looking around for affordable, highly rated weighted blankets. That's when I came across the Weighted Idea Weighted Blanket. They came in a variety of colors, but in the 60X80 size...the dark gray, 15 lb blanket was the most affordable ($43.99 each). So I bought five of them, chose the gift wrapping option for an extra $5 and off they went via prime two-day shipping to my team members in Dallas, New York, Boston, & Atlanta. As my recruiters received their surprise blankets over the next couple of days, I started to get messages from each one of them saying how much they had always wanted a weighted blanket and how much they liked the gifts. Given how pleased they were with the blankets, I decided to purchase two more...one for myself and one for my wife. That's right a total of seven blankets! I'm 5'10" 220 lbs so I got myself a gray 20 lb blanket. My wife is 5'3" 135 - 145 lbs depending on how much she runs, so I got her a white with yellow flowers 15 lb blanket. Hers was a little more costly at $63.99. So what are my thoughts on the blanket? Make no mistake about it, the 20 lb blanket is heavy! I weighed it on the scale and it weighed in at 20.3 lbs. The 15 lb version is no lightweight either. You can carry them around but it certainly takes some effort. I slept with mine on top of the comforter on our bed last night and I could barely move my legs and body, but it felt good. When I woke up in the morning it was even tougher to move my legs and body. I guess my muscles had relaxed overnight, making the blanket feel even heavier. I would not recommend the 20 lb blanket for a woman. I simply think it would be way too heavy. I don't have anxiety, depression, or any of the other mental disorders weighted blankets claim to impact. But I do have a hard time sleeping through the night. I slept pretty good the first night with the blanket. I'll have to continue testing it in order to adequately review its use as a sleep aid. Regarding quality...the stitching is top notch. There are no loose beads. No weird smells. The cotton material seems durable. And the gray color is nice and masculine. The white with yellow flowers version is very pretty and my wife likes it a lot. I give this blanket my full endorsement so far. Based on initial impressions of this $43 blanket ($63 for my wife's), I don't know why someone would pay $150-$200 for a weighted blanket. I guess some people prefer a plush or fuzzy blanket, which this one is not. However, is a fuzzy weighted blanket worth an extra $100 or more? Well that's up to you. It was suggested I get a weighted blanket. I thought it was be hot and heavy. I had no great expectations but to try it and return it if I didn’t like it. I told a friend I’ll give it one night. I also don’t usually go out of my way to write reviews, but this blanket has been an unexpected nice surprise. It is heavy, but it is definitely not hot. It feels breathable. Even when it is hot it feels like it cools. Even when it is cold, it keeps me warm enough. It is all I need to cover myself with. It is also a great price. I was going to choose between this cheaper one and a more expensive one, expecting to have to return the cheaper one, but I absolutely love this blanket. I am not one to easily impress. I’m usually disappointed in purchases, but this one is a must have! ... show more
