  • Hollow box o' junk
Size: 12V5A
Power brick is EXTREMELY light. Basic stuff, they're not using a good transformer from 120VAC to 12VDC. You get the transformer right from the get go, you save a lot of effort past that. A good transformer and full bridge rectifier are the pure simplest circuits for that. Put some stuff in for noise supression, but still the simplest level. Used to test with a 12V 2A load for an old fan. Failed within an hour of use. Sparks whenever plugged in now, but no voltage on the other end. Will cut apart the brick tomorrow and add photos when possible. ... show more

  • Awful quality. 5 star rating result of offers of paying for ratings.
Size: 12V5A
Terrible quality. It was cheap, but it’s really cheap. The contents of the power brick rattles around inside the case. The cables in the AC power end is very extremely narrow. Im afraid a cat could bit through it in one go. Has a lot of 5 star ratings. But it does come with a card saying that they will pay $10 for a 5 star rating. So that probably explains a good chunk of those. I’m returning this before I risk plugging it in. But I am tempted to take a look in side and see how terrible it is. ... show more

  • Get's the job done for a fraction of the price!
Size: 12V5A
I have a Wisenet 16 camera system and after only about a year or so cameras started going in and out at night, then completely. I was able to reboot the system, and switch pigtails, and unplug the power supply for cameras and everything would go back to working for a little bit until it didn't. So, since I knew the cameras are good I knew I needed better power and my system initially included 1 plug for 8 cameras and 2 for four, I decided to go with 1 per four so now I have 4 power supplies versus the 3 before and each has 4 cameras (I updated the pigtails too one power supply had 8, the other two had 4 each) and everything is looking pretty good! The cables were thick even thicker than those on the original, everything fit original connections, and with a regular plug, I was able to save space on battery backup because the boxes were further down the line versus built into the plug. All-in-all a win win situation! ... show more

  • Stopped working after a month
Size: 12V1A
After about a month of usage, the device it was powering started behaving more temperamentally, claiming "low" (current) or simply not powering on at all. Each time I'd have to unplug and plug in in the DC adapter a few more times before it would finally work. Just now I had to unplug and plug it back in about 60 times to get it to power up my LED device. Hooked it up to a multimeter. 12V solid. Fluctuates between 0 and 1A in a strange burst-burst-burst-pause pattern. I don't know what this indicates - I just know how to look at a screen and the fact that it isn't working. I tested another DC adapter that put out a solid 1A and it works fine. I'm past the 30 day return policy and life it too short to deal with this nonsense. Just pay the extra bucks for something that works next time. You'd think I'd have learned that life lesson by now. ... show more

  • Great price, but you're getting what you pay for
Size: 12V5A
My heart sunk when I unboxed this and realized it barely weighed more than the cardboard it was packaged in. I don't know much about transformers, but I do know the old rule of thumb that the heavier the transformer, the better it was made. If there's any truth to that, this isn't worth its weight in salt. To be fair, the transformer puts out the rated power and fired up an LED right off the bat. However, I immediately noticed a loud "hum" coming from all my speakers on the stereo amplifier plugged into a nearby plug (on the same circuit). I swapped out this 12V transformer for a heavy, high quality one that we use for a bluetooth charger/speaker, and instantly the hum disappeared. The culprit: this little inexpensive transformer was introducing some weird electrical noise into our home audio. If you need a cheap, *temporary* solution for getting 12V power to something, this may work for you. I would absolutely not recommend it in a case where you need clean, unobtrusive power, or in any sort of permanent installation. ... show more

  • Works fine, but cords way too short
Size: 12V5A
Bought these items to replace jumbo-size 12V power sources for router and modem because sheer size of the former blocked several AC receptacles on battery backup UPS. Installed, powered up fine, devices working, BUT, I had to relocate UPS because both the 12V DC and 115V AC cords were way too short for original placement. Only about ca. 18in. (!) for each cord, only just managed to connect devices with UPS, and nothing to spare. Other 12V DC power sources I’m using have at least 60in. cords for DC and 36in. for AC, so really have to deduct a couple of stars for these shortcomings. ... show more

  • Excellent Value
Size: 12V5A
Running well, outputting 12.3 volts. I've paired it with an EGO 150 watt battery inverter (which supplies AC line voltage from any EGO battery) . It's currently (no pun intended )powering 12 V landscaping lights remotely to test brightness, placement etcetera without having to permanently wire them. It's been a great solution for testing various wattage LED landscape lights with ease. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Not rated at 5 Amps - Light and Barely Pushed 2 Amps
Size: 12V5A
Not sure if there is a bad batch of these or what but the 3 units I received were WAY too light to be rated at 5 amps and based on my measurements barely pushed 2 amps (and likely was being over driven to do this). I returned mine and will be looking for something legit to replace them. Don't bother with these if you really need 5 amps of power. ... show more
