Bought this in 2018. I may have reviewed it right away. So this is an "After Six Years Of Use" review. I wanted to mount it in an ammo can, so I moved the fuse to the front, and moved the rectifier and heat sink to the side of the unit. Then I mounted it in an ammo can. I had to file off the top of the fuse holder and remove some plastic from the + and - connectors on the front panel; I had to do that in order to close the lid of the ammo can. I added various cords and connectors for a wide variety of applications. I paired it with a VHF/UHF radio in another ammo can (with a battery pack) for a great disaster prep radio combination! I've been using this setup as a VHF/UHF base station on top of my HF radio cabinet for 6 years. No complaints, no issues. It's been a fantastic little power supply, and I've even used it to power my Yaesu FT-817 HF transceiver on many occasions. Two Thumbs Up! ... show more

I have my small ham radio connected to the Pyramid PS9KX, and have it on all day long. It works great for my needs at this time. It puts out a consistent 13.8 volts all day long. I like having the option to use the DC plug or direct wire connection.

Needed for mobile cb which is dc current and wanted to use in workshop. Instead of using old 12v car battery bought this. Did the job, JUST ENOUGH power for 1 unit..if you need more than 5amp, go bigger model. Just had no use for lighter plug

The media could not be loaded. Great to safely test my MOTOROLA DYNATACS from the 1980’s and early 1990’s. Selling on Ebay as Claimitamerica- this power supply has helped me awaken over 30 year old early cell phones and become #1 in GOOGLE search. This is a solid/ well built unit. The pictured phone is DYNATAC 8000M from 1992 with only 792 minutes of use and looks like new. Since the batteries are over 30 years old, can’t compare to running off this power supply. It also has a great car socket to use with any 12V negative ground device and great with this PHONES slide on car adapter. Worth the price for this niche DIY product. ... show more

Looks nicely made, can't speak to longevity. But it's dead quiet, don't even know it's on aside from distinctive, but unobtrusive, pilot light. 13.8 volts on the money. Just make sure to use it within it's 5A limitation.
