I read all of the reviews before deciding to give this a shot. After reading reviews about "flimsy" and "falls apart", I decided that I would buy it this anyway and make my own adjustments. It was easy to put together. Dowels and double sided tape. Yes, it's not the most sturdy piece of "furniture" if you can even call it that, but it does exactly what I wanted it to do- conceal the litter box and keep the cat from kicking the litter out (it's better, but she still manages to get some out). I just made sure that I assembled it close to where I wanted it to end up and added cat box and litter after I had it all put together. After reading all reviews, I decided that I was going to put Contac paper down along the bottom and sides before putting the littler box in. I had to buy a smaller litter box to fit, but that's ok. It's been just over a month since my purchase and I'm happy with it and will buy another should anything happen to this one. My only complaint is the same as everybody else- wish it were a more sturdy material. ... show more

I had high hopes for this product. It looks great, and the DIY fix of using flex seal to waterproof it seemed reasonable enough. Unfortunately, the cabinet is so poorly put together that it's completely unusable. The whole unit is constructed of "z-board" that is essentially corrugated cardboard with a wood-patterned veneer. I've attached a picture of the inside of one of the boards to show how awful the material is for constructing pet furniture. To add to the issue, the whole unit is held together with wooden pegs and a double-sided 3M tape that is not nearly sticky enough to hold the unit in place. (Also shown) I still gave it a try, straight out of the box. It fell apart after a day. I tried to fix it with glue and flex seal. Three days after putting it back in place, the unit fell apart **while my cat was inside it** with the top and back collapsing on top of my cat. She was not injured, but she is giving me difficulty with using a litter box now because of it. This product is not only faulty, but it is also dangerous. I would give less than one star if I could. Insult to injury: the box that it comes in is glued, so figuring out how to package it for return is a complete pain. This is a product to absolutely avoid. ... show more

Not sure what I was expecting, but it wasn’t this. The product is lightweight because it is paper covered cardboard held together with dowels and 2 sided tape. So far, it is serving the purpose I intended. I use it to house my cats food. The half wall keeps our large dog out of the food. The cats seem to like it and just needed to be shown 1 time where the food is located. I’m glad I purchased a separate cabinet to house the litter box as I’m not sure how well this cabinet would hold up to any type of moisture. I keep the water on the floor outside of the cabinet. I had one issue during assembly when I put one side panel on upside down. The panels only fit together one way so I would recommend test fitting before removing the paper strip from the tape. Total assembly time was 20 minutes max, including remedying my mistake. I think I like this product but will hold off on final judgment until we have used it for awhile. UPDATE: I initially rated this cabinet 4 stars but have since changed it to 5 stars. I am going on almost 6 years of use and, not only does this cabinet hold up, it still looks great. There is some slight yellowing to it but, its home is in my sunroom so it is exposed to A LOT of sunlight. I have since moved my cat’s water fountain inside the cabinet as well as her automatic feeder and have had no issues at all with water damage. Spills are easily cleaned up if done quickly. I never thought that a paper product would last so long but it does and my cat and I are still quite happy with it! ... show more

My cats love this thing. It was very easy to assemble, but it’s not very sturdy so be sure to keep it in a place it won’t get knocked. The cabinet looks ok, it doesn’t look too cheap. I still think this product is incredibly overpriced for what it is. If you’re looking for convenience, like I was, this is the product for you. However, if I need something like this again, I’ll take the time to just make one. ... show more

    • Check dimensions of the litter box space, not the whole piece

It just sticks together with some kind of adhesive you pull a strip off of, which I thought was odd at first, but as long as you let it sit pressed together for a good amount of time, it actually holds the weight of some things on top of it. I wouldn’t put too much on top for the safety of your cat(s), but I have a couple of lighter boxes on it. The one thing is that the door came off within a few months of having it and the hinge busted entirely, so I can’t put it back on. Kind of a huge part of having this was that it was closing off the litter box. Now my cat is back to throwing litter all over the floor. Also be aware of dimensions for the litter box space specifically. There is a little half wall in it for the cat to walk in a sort of hallway to the box, it isn’t all open inside. We switched to a self-cleaning litter box and it’s too big to fit. ... show more
