  • I'm deaf in 1 ear and needed to hear better - great for shooting.
Pattern Name: Ear Bud Rope Style: Standard
I got these to enhance my hearing while hunting and shooting. Was a little nervous the first time I shot, but they worked perfectly. I could hear much better talking with my group while we were sighting in my 308 and every time I shot, the protector kicked in to bring the noise down to a bearable level It is important to get the foam earpiece that fits snug in your ear - they are also part of your protection. make sure they fit tight and seal well - if you shoot with the sound silencer off they should work to reduce the level on their own. Then when you turn them on they enhance the hearing , but also block 85db and above. I wish they had replaceable batteries instead of rechargeable ones, but so far they hold up well - we'll see if they still do come hunting season. I will probably carry a power bank just in case. The only issue I really had was typical of all sound amplification assistance devices I've tried - they amplify everything and don't really filter out sounds like engine noise, loud vibrations and such which obscure voices. I was hoping to use while driving with wife in the car, but the other noises still drowned her out - just like in my hearing aids. Great for shooting though and hoping they hold up well in the field this season. ... show more

  • pretty good lack of bang for your buck
Pattern Name: Ear Bud Rope Style: Standard
I saw some reviews that panned these for not cutting out the sound. Thought I'd give them a try anyway. Put them on, a little difficult and not quite the comfort I'm used to, and turned the volume up like 3 or 4. Was pretty good. I fired a few shots and heard everything so was thinking the same as the other reviews BUT, I wanted to put to true test. I pulled one ear out and fired same gun and my ear was ringing pretty badly. It absolutely does cut the sharp loud noise, was impressed. I am used to 33 db soft ear plugs, very comfortable but absolute noise stifling. These I could hear normal everything plus amplified (but I seriously doubt you could hear a deer from a mile away) But kept the bang out. I used .32, 9mm. .45LC/410ga and smg. All but the last are single shot or semi so I could see doing a bang at a time but the last was smg so a long constant bang of about 11 seconds straight. Good job. Only drawback was the comfort/positioning. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Buy these vs the earbuds.
Pattern Name: Ear Bud Rope Style: Standard
I shipped a set of earbuds back to Midway, and found these., I have a pair like them at work I use for music as well, and love those, so this seemed like the obvious choice. It is. Do no consider the earbuds for a second, they are absolute trash and these are gold in comparison.

  • Questionable NRR rating, fit issues....
Pattern Name: Ear Bud Rope Style: Standard
I read all the reviews before I purchased about the questionable 29 dB NRR rating but went ahead and bought them anyway. My Walker's ear muffs work great. These however, are not the same quality. Aside from the small irritants like no LED for on status, the bigger one is I couldn't really tell if they were working. Shooting outdoors, I could hear the tone change when I turned them on but when the guy to bays down from me let off with his magnum, I questioned if they were really on. Turned the volume up and down and the pitch changed, but there was very little sound reduction when a gun was fired. Then there is the fit issue. I was using the small cups. They would slowly dislodge without me knowing until that magnum fired off again. I changed to the med cups which are too big. Not sure if they were pulling out when I was getting into position but because they dislodged just enough without me knowing, in my opinion, these will hurt your hearing....my ears are still ringing....Stay with Walker's over the ear muffs or get a better in ear device....these are not the same. ... show more

  • Works great!
Pattern Name: Ear Bud Rope Style: Standard
There work extraordinarily well! Comes with carrying case and charging cable. They are very comfortable for a whole day at the range, battery life is great (used for 2 whole days on the range and didn’t have to recharge). Easy on/off switch and volume controls, the noise cancellation works very well, and speaking voices can still be heard very clearly. Great buy, definitely recommended. ... show more

  • NOT a rope connection
Pattern Name: Ear Bud Rope Style: Standard
they were comfortable and thats about where the good part ended. I chose the NON bluetooth, but there is constant static, the louder you make the ambient noise, the more static you get and the wind noise increases as well... the WORST part is that if you aren't paying attention, the description says rope connection, but the regular version is NOT and it's a vinyl plastic that grabs your shirt and the gun when mounting and will pull out of your ear or tug on your shirt and is not a good design. My buddy got the actual rope one and he had NO issues with his set. ... show more

  • Work Really Well
Pattern Name: Ear Bud Rope Style: Standard
I waited to review these until I had really, I mean REALLY used them. I'm outdoors a lot and I shoot lots of handguns at targets of opportunity, namely hogs. That is the very reason I bought these, I wanted to be able to walk through the pasture and hear everything around me, yet be able to fire my revolvers without (further) damaging my hearing. These Wlaker's work PERFECTLY. Once in my ears, they amplify my hearing just above the level I hear without anything in my ears, yet when I fire my .41 Magnum or .44 Special, or any firearm for that matter, they protect my hearing wonderfully! As such, I HIGHLY recommend these! ... show more

  • Walkers does not support this product
Pattern Name: Ear Bud Rope Style: Standard
Received the Shooting/training omni directional hearing buds yesterday. Basically they seem to be OK since I only had a short period to try them. However when I tried to find extra ear bud tips for spares I could not find them anywhere, even on Walkers web site. I called and was able to talk to customer service (great). They could not find any "bud tips" either. Their response was "if that is not acceptable return them"! Since my initial findings were favorable I'll keep them and be real careful with the two and only bud tips. ... show more
