Several key points why this product exceeded my expectations... The instant on feature is now considered by me to be a must have feature, far exceeds my other dots red dot sites, from Burris and Vortex. Outstanding brightness control and crispness of the green dot. Significant to me is I can see the front sight through the viewing plane with the green dot visible. This has two advantages, it makes it extremely easy to locate the green dot quickly, and it does allow some degree of co-witnessing. Another huge advantage for me is use with a laser dry fire cartridge, which projects a red dot and allows instantly visible comparison contrast with the green dot in the site. This make dry fire practice much more effective. One possible downside to the design battery replacement requires site removal, and this may have an impact on water integrity, But overall, it is much improved past sites that I've owned... and at half the price of other sites... Can't beat it with a stick! ... show more

Ordered the RFX35 As you can see from the picture, it sits nicely on a Ruger 22 picatinny rail and looks great. Easy to install, comes with pic rail adapter, and green dot is large and easy to spot.

I initially had this set on a sig handgun, however without a power button, carrying it would strain the battery life. Granted, the battery life is STILL going a month or two after purchase so not detrimental if you’d like to still. Personally, i find it more useful on a stored rifle. Provides clear picture, light ambiance, and the motion activation saves the battery life on a rifle more than a pistol due to storing vs carrying. The green dot itself is crisp like everyone says it is, and especially for the price, if this is what you are looking for you will most definitely be satisfied. ... show more

I am sorry to say that I did not like this green dot. It fit my Hellcat Pro perfectly, was somewhat easy to install, and was well priced. However, it was not as clean a dot as other reviewers described. Instead it seemed to blossom or star, as others have described of other brand dots. In addition, it did not have MOA clicks when zeroing. Thus, it was more difficult to dial in than it should have been. Zero is very important to me (and should be for you as well) because that is what ensures we hit what we aim, and better yet that it is co-witnessed with the iron sights. Here, I never was able to obtain co-witness, and the zeroing took nearly an entire 50 round box (45 rounds, three magazines). More, it did not always turn on with the "always on motion," in fact, on occasion I had to smack it with my hand to wake up. Not cool, because in a crises, this is the last thing you should be thinking about. I was also disappointed that the GDS was made in China, something not referenced in the web materials. I believe that particularly for something this crucial, it should be made here, or in an allied nation. In closing, the dot was bright, the green really did appear to stand out. ... show more

So low profile and nice quality that it’s a no brainer. Was a lil worried but after installing it I couldn’t be more pleased. Co witness straight from the package wow even cooler. Dot is good man I am so pleased Updated! Unless you can locate screws for the Glock rmr plate the screw they supply which are the only ones … go through the rmr plate and contact to slide of the Glock… that causes to rmr to lift at the back. At first I thought well it’s not a big deal but I thought about it and if I shoot that’s going to wear away at my slide. Can not locate screws with thread pattern and the right depth and width I just returned it. Dam nice sight One more thing there is a little space between sight and mos cut out and there’s a gap in front hard to see but it’s there. Big picture window Broken hearted ... show more

Overall, the optic is what you get for the price. Sure, it's a quarter of the price of other higher quality optics, but it's lacking the features and attention to detail competitors offer. Some corners are definitely cut, but you can't beat the pricetag. This optic does what it was designed to do no problem, but there are better options on the market. The BAD: -Right off the bat, the housing on this optic flexes and warps when you install the screws. The owner's manual advises 8-10 inch pounds torque setting, make sure you remain in that spec or you'll crack the "High Strength Thermomolded Polymer" (Feels like Injection-molded ABS). -The edges of the glass from the have very visible glue beading from too much glue, which I guess is preferable to having too little glue. This does not affect the window and is not visible when aiming the optic, but it's definitely an eye-sore. -The underside of the optic has a very visible gap to where you can actually see the 2032 battery. This could very much cause a problem with humidity and moisture entering the optic and corrroding/destroying electronics. Most other companies with bottom-loading battery trays include a sealing plate to prevent this (see Trijicon), but Viridian does not. The GOOD: -Price is cheap, could definitely mount this on a plinking gun and have no issue, but on a defensive pistol I wouldn't put my life on it. -Comes with multiple different screws for different threads, a slip-on protective rubber cover, three allen keys for installation and zeroing, a cleaning cloth, and a pic rail mount. -Doesn't look super tacky or cheap, the housing is sleek and minimal. ... show more
