Description

Kingslayer is a super compact open reflex dot sight allowing a quick acquisition of a sight picture with both eyes open. For pistol slide platforms, remove the included 1913 Picatinny mount and use the RMR-compatible footprint underneath. With the Picatinny mount installed, Kingslayer works great on rifle and other applications. Kingslayer is waterproof, fog resistant and features a scratch resistant, anti-glare lens multicoating. Built like a tank, Kingslayer will maintain its zero on reciprocating pistol slides, 12 gauge guns and even .308 battle rifles. Choose from 3 MOA red dot, red circle dot, or green circle dot reticles.

I'm giving this product a 5-star review even though I returned it. The problem really wasn't with the scope per se, but with my vision. I was brand new to red dot scopes and didn't really know what to expect. I'm 73 and I learned that I have enough astigmatism to cause the dot to "star out", basically obscuring my target at more than about 15 yards. 25 yard shots were impossible for me. (So I'm going back to a traditional scope with a reticle and 2X magnification.) But for someone with better vision (i.e., minimal astigmatism), this scope is great. The build is very good. It feels very solid made from quality materials. The glass is clean and fairly crisp. (Mind you, I never used a more expensive red dot, so can't compare -- but it's good.) The dot is as bright as one could want it, and of course can be dialed down quite low. The sight is quite small and light weight, and fit very solidly on my red dot mount. (I used a Tandemkross Shadow Mount on my Ruger Mark IV 22/45.) Add that Swampfox customer service is top notch, both presale (I called with several questions before purchase, and they addressed them all with patience, kindness and a sense of humor) and post sale. There were only three minor problems that I shared with them, none of which were "deal breakers", and not contributors to my return. First, the brightness steps between illumination levels were very consistent, except the one that really mattered most: the step down from "visible in late afternoon light just before sundown" to one step below that where my astigmatism basically disappeared that one step was just too much diminution in brightness, going from a fairly bright dot to one I could barely see. It wasn't half dimmed, but more like 1/4th. Second, the elevation and windage adjustments were not tactile clicks. I didn't need audible clicks, but hoped for tactile clicks when I adjusted "one click". There just wasn't anything there that I could feel. I had to use visual position of the adjustment screw slot -- which is challenging for older eyes since they are recessed into the body and hard to see without good light. Third, and maybe worse, the adjustment for the elevation was too tight, and for windage way too easy. The tiniest movement would overshoot the "click". Again, none of those three issues were deal breakers for me. Just annoyances. Overall, this is a really fine red dot, especially for the money, and I fully recommend it. ... show more

Super easy to mount on a rmr cut optic slide. I attached my green circle dot kingslayer to a tisas px-9, the kingslayer was a quarter mm too large and i had to use a mallet to get the optic flush with the slide cut out. No damage to optic. This is a great entry level optic for someone looking for a self defense optic. The circle is amazing, in a self defense situation put the circle over the target and you will get shots within the circle. The brightness settings are very bright. The dot on the green circle dot is an amber color, or at least thats what my eye sees. Pros: the green circle dot optic comes already pre-zeroed, i had to make only very minor adjustments. Once it's zeroed in, it's hard to miss. If you don't absolutely want a circle dot, I recommend you look at other low cost red dots that have shake awake. I think there's better value going that route. going from iron sights, it's going to take a lot of reps for me to be able to consistently bring the sight up to eye level. ... show more

Overall good bang for the buck. The unit was delivered without the battery. There was an empty small plastic bag that I assume should have contained the battery. Thinking that the unit might have been previously returned by someone else, I was about to return it myself. By chance I had a CR1632 battery. Installed it. the unit is working fine and was zero'd in right from the box. I've used it a bunch times within the 30 day return window. The Kingslayer is an excellent sight. It is compact and light, one of the smallest ones I've come across. The battery can be replaced via a side tray, no need to remove the sight from the gun. I have it mounted on a Ruger Mark IV tactical on the Picatinny rail. This sight includes the Pic rail mount, a lot of other manufacturers now no longer ship with the sight. I choose the green circle/Dot reticle. Clarity is good, only wish it had a shake & wake feature. One minor issue which is common to all reflex sights is the topic of eye relief. They all state that the eye relief is 'unlimited', which is technically correct, but on a handgun with the firearm at armlength the reticle practically fills the entire screen. This makes fast target acquisition difficult. On a rifle where the sight is closer to the eye the reticle size is smaller and more useable. Takes a little practice to get used to. Overall, I give this sight high marks, it is built very solid and is easy to install. ... show more

Quality wise it is a well made optic. Its holds zero well. I wanted green instead of red and it does the job. The cons though make me wish I had gone elsewhere. A couple cheaper ones I tried had shake awake and this one does not. I didn’t think it was that big a deal but it is in retrospect. When turning it on there is a substantial delay before the crosshairs actually show up which is a huge drawback. If this is for target practice only you won’t mind the delay, but if this is for defense there are better options out there and some are even cheaper. ... show more

This mounted up nicely on my VP9 L with plate #2 and works great, I have a gnarly astigmatism, keratoconus actually, and I have few problems with it, it's more crisp than the couple of EOtech holos I've looked through to me. Holds zero fine with 2-3 weekly training sessions of ~200 rounds each and Kydex holster draws. The only part I would want to caution on is that it's a bit wider than the more current offerings from Swampfox even with the battery on the side. If that's a concern for you I would recommend the justice or liberty their newer options but you will lose the green circle dot reticle that way. ... show more
