Looks like they got run over by a truck?! Wont be using these except for maybe firewood. Drumsticks need to be pristine, these are the opposite of that.

Normally, my goto stick is VF5A wooden tip, but I go everywhere: 3A, 5B, Rockers... I usually warm up and do snare work with heavier and switch to a lighter stick for set. I've also played Vaters as well but seem to come back to VF. Found this stick by chance at my local shop. Was never a fan of lighter (7A, etc) sticks but these felt much different to me. What I didn't realize was the overall length of the "Extreme", X8D are longer than normal 8D which actually didn't work for me as well. I've also found that Amazon price is the same as my local shop so for that reason, I'll keep my business local. ... show more

Great sticks, fits with any style that I've played (rock, pop, jazz). The weight and feel overall is excellent. I will say that I do shred them up pretty quickly when playing heavy rock on the hihat for long periods of time, but it's a wooden stick. Metal > wood in durability, whattya gonna do

Who would have though another 1/2" would be a game changer? These sticks are awesome! Or should I say, Extreme?!?! Great fit and balance. I always felt like 16" sticks were ready to fly right out of my hands. The extra 1/2" changes the overall balance of the stick and it stays in my hand better. I think this is my new go-to stick for all types of music. Love it! ... show more

My go to stick, great for anything from jazz to rock. Thinner than 5A but not too thin like 7A. The extra length is great for people with short arms (me) or an expansive kit. Excellent balance and tone.

As far as size and feel they're perfect. Very well balanced and perfect ally straight. I prefer wood tips and the tips chip far too frequently. They're still the only stick I play because they feel so right but it's costly because no stick plays the same after the tip is compromised.
