  • Great value for the money
Style: V70 SPORT
Seems to be well made. It is sturdy—has a full size hitch so make sure your vehicle is equipped with a 2 inch hitch receiver. I like the tilting feature and the ability to lock down the anti sway bar when the hitch is not in use. I also felt it was a great value, with features found on carriers costing almost twice as much. It took about 30 minutes to assemble. The instructions are adequate, but you need to read the diagrams carefully. I have taken my bike on one outing so far — highway and rough roads were not an issue. ... show more

  • Very solid hitch. No noise or wobble.
Style: V70 SPORT
First, my minor annoyances. They include a skinny hitch pin with this and the hole is not drilled out enough for a standard or locking hitch pin. Even though the anti-rattle knob has a locking option, an extra layer of optional theft protection would have been nice. A second hole, a few inches closer would have been nice to allow for a closer fit to vehicles, as it sticks out quite a bit, though understandable due to the "universal fit". It's also possible due to the built in anti-rattle setup, a second hole or even a larger hole may not work. Now that we have that out of the way, this is a very solid hitch. I like the fact that it is a 2" , not an 1 1/4" with a modded add on piece. Helps to make it a more solid fit. Assembly is easiest on your vehicle, but could be done on the ground in a pinch. For now, I'm only using it for 1 bike, so I'll save the extra cradles and hook. Everything fits tight. Once you have tightened down everything, there is no movement or rattle from this. Once I adjusted the wheel holders for my bike and tightened it down, I took it for a quick spin, including a quick off road on a nearby dirt/gravel road and it stayed tight. No noise, no wobble, no rattle. Any movement was the vehicle itself. The tire cradles do a great job of holding things in place. I feel confident this will do well on a road trip, including off road to get to dirt or mountain trails. It does a good job of folding up too, so you can stow it on the vehicle while off riding. For reference, this was with a 27.5 full suspension mountain bike. Lastly, security. The hitch part and the sliding lock down hooks include a key lock to help with anti-theft. They even include a pretty long cable lock as well that uses the same key. This is plenty for the casual opportunistic thief, but if theft is a concern, invest in some higher rated u-locks and heavy duty rated chains as well. (Do the research, cables don't hold up well to bolt cutters and even some tin snips, so go chains. They can still get through with portable grinders, but the more obstacles and the longer they have to make lots of noise, the better) While additional security may be a pain, dealing with chains and extra locks, having your bikes stolen is much worse. The more layers, the less likely someone will bother with it, or they'll be using grinders for quite a while drawing a lot of attention to themselves. plus this is a bike carrier, so you can store the extra stuff in the vehicle while out enjoying your ride. :) ... show more

  • Good for the price. I hope the plastic holds up.
Style: V70 SPORT
***Update: My frame has a slanted upper bar. As a result, the rack scratched the crap out of my frame in transit. I have had to improvise some kind of padding to keep the sharp metal from scratching my expensive carbon fiber. Not Vibrelli's fault necessarily, but why wouldn't there be a rubber cover on the part facing the bike?*** Here is what I like: It was priced well compared to other options. Seems plenty strong for my one 50-pound ebike. I was relieved that the holder worked on the slanted bar on my Specialized Turbo Levo Carbon. Was big enough for my S6 model, which worried me. Easy to build and install. Here is what I don’t like: The cradles and holder bar are just plastic boxes that are held snug by a tensioner. I wonder how long those are going to last. They do not slide all that easily. I almost broke my back window when I removed the top holder, since my bike immediately fell toward the car. I will have to use a strap to keep that from happening. The pin holding the rack in the receiver is not threaded. My cheap Harbor Freight one has threads that hold it very tight. Why can’t this brand also have a threaded pin? Here is what I wish: That you could fold both the horizontal and vertical bars up, that the pin were stronger, and that the sliding parts were in a groove or something to help them slide. ... show more

  • Get What You Pay For
Style: V70 SPORT
Im not saying this is a bad product. I’m just saying… I see why it’s significantly cheaper than some others. At least, I HOPE those who have paid hundreds more, aren’t having the same issues. CONS: 1. Locking mechanism: it’s great that you can lock the hooks that hold the bike in place. The problem is, the entire knob is wonky and often doesn’t work. Especially after you lock it then unlock it. So you are standing there looking like an idiot, trying to push up the hook that holds down the cross bar and hoping you won’t end up pushing it into your chin 2. Rust: you need to lather this thing in some sort of weather proofing chemical because the rust is insane. It’s very easy to scratch and the rust can’t wait to show up! 3. Knob fell off: I have a missing knob and unsure where it fell off. Or why. But I will have to figure out how to replace it PROS: 1. Easy enough to install alone. I did it by myself as a 44 year old woman. 2. Works as intended and feels solid 3. I have driven on highways for miles and it stays in place- no problems 4. Easy to use daily 5. Decent looking 6.
