Style: Tie Downs 1.5 in x 13 ft
These kayak straps are of excellent quality. I particularly appreciate the neoprene sleeves covering the steel to avoid scratching whatever it rubs against. While the quality is there I found it difficult to get the straps tight enough for my liking. I will still use them but it makes me a little nervous. That could be attributed to my being a novice kayaker and still learning tie down methods. Despite that caveat I do like them and will still use them. I have gotten the kayak tied down tightly sometimes but other times I feel like I just cant with these. I should also mention that I do not have any J racks or a saddle as of yet which could be contributing to the difficulties I am having. But, I did some research and found that if you twist the straps over the kayak you have NO NOISE! The straps did what they are supposed to do, no movement in the kayak at 55 mph on highway. This works great for our canoe. We cut the pieces apart so that they were wide, so one went on either side of the roof of our vehicle. We drove 1,200 miles with it up there, it speeds in excess of 70 mph. The canoe was more secure than on a traditional roof rack, because these are made of hard foam versus if you're trying to strap them down on hard metal. So worth the price! This is an easy and simple solution, and it works remarkably well! But I have 2 deal breakers. 1 - if it rains water drips in the cabin. This woupdnt be a problem if you live in an area where it doesnt rain a lot. 2 - I cannot get the straps tight enough, no matter what I do it feels loose.

I recently purchased this for my sit on top kayak. I drove a 08 Ford Fusion. This is super easy to slap on top of my car and ratchet down. I highly recommend getting the one with the additional accessories as you never know what might happen. The straps are perfect on my kayak. Because the straps are long I bobby pin them up, I'm sure there is another way but it's not been a problem. The performance is exactly how the described it. I don't hear too much noise outside of the air that goes under the kayak. The straps have been through the rain and on various road trips over 60 miles. Well worth the money! ... show more

As long as you remember to open the doors before cinching they are great! Front strap position is best to have the buckle on the passenger side. Didn’t need to use the tie downs as was a short distance but went 50mpg with no issues. Great product and high quality
