Let me preface, after watching a YouTube video I can now use and enjoy the machine. I found the instructions useless so I googled ice cream recipes and that was a total failure. Because the instructions were bad (at least to me). The paddle froze to the sides within 5 minutes into the ice cream cycle. Not yet ready to return it, I went to YouTube and found someone who was reviewing the product. He went through step by step and explained everything. Because instruction book gives metric measurements I went to product website and followed their US measurement recipe. Basically dump ingredients into container, turn to mix, then to ice cream setting and after 40 minutes, got to taste delicious, creamy ice cream. I purchased this ice cream maker last year and never got around to leaving a review, as you do. I absolutely love this ice cream maker! It churns, freezes and it versatile with the time. I use the Ice Cream mode, which pre-sets to 60 mins, and keep an eye on it after 30 mins to get the right amount of air into the ice cream. I use the separate cover on the lid to mix in my add-ins like chocolate chips, nuts etc without losing any of the cooling. The only thing that has gone wrong with the machine is my mixtures! :) It is a bit heavy but that's the compressor weight to freeze and churn. Can make a batch of ice cream in a flash! Would recommend for casual ice cream makers and serious aficionados, and I have! ... show more
