These worked perfectly for little ornaments, not sure how they would work as planters. The hole is kind of small for lacing twine through, but the dollar tree 1mm crafting twine is perfect. Water is probably smaller than twine though, so that would probably go through the hole better. Overall, the kids loved these for a holiday craft, and great price when I needed 120 of them. We put a popsicle stick with a seed packet on top and then we put some green confetti that you use in Easter basket to hold up the popsicle stick.
