I purchased a metal outdoor address sign to put up on the brick wall outside my front door. It came with adhesive tape and within a day the sign fell down. I went to a hardware store, bought another adhesive but it too failed. I had just about given up and was going to drill a hole into my brick wall, which is the last thing I wanted to do. I am so glad I didn't. I purchased these outdoor strips and they work. I put the sign up and after two snow storms, a few rain storms the sign remains up. We purchased 3 packages of these velcro strips to mount solar screens on the outside of the metal-framed windows in our relatively new home. We didn't want to drill into the window frames to mount the screens, and figured that "industrial strength" velcro would be strong enough to hold the screens in place even in high winds. The first package we opened had only 6 sets of strips instead of 10. Fortunately the other packages were full. We returned 6 strips in the package and requested a new package, which has already arrived. We thoroughly cleaned the surface of our metal windows before starting. Then we adhered velcro to the solar screens with 2 evenly-spaced strips on either side (but not top or bottom). We figured that putting the velcro at the top and/or bottom of the screens would make them more difficult to remove without buckling the very large (35x72 inch) screens. We placed the other half of the velcro pair in place on the screen edges to ensure the velcro would line up perfectly. Also, since all of our windows and solar screens are the same size, we made sure that we placed the velcro in the same location each time so everything would be interchangeable. Once outside, we peeled off the backing on the 4 pieces of exposed velcro and carefully positioned each solar screen on a window and pressed on the velcro area hard to be sure of good adhesion. So far, we've mounted 3 screens. Since the screen edges are 1" across, the velcro doesn't show. We plan to mount the remaining 3 screens in a few days, after we've had a chance to be sure they hold tight. We have other uses planned for the leftover strips, including mounting a TV antenna to the soffit of our home. I'll report back if I need to add to or modify this review based on that experience. The biggest problem we had with the velcro was difficulty in peeling off the backing paper. There's no extra backing to grip. It's not a big deal, just an annoyance. ... show more

The Velcro brand is not exaggerating calling these fasteners "Industrial Strength." All too often, brands will make an "extra strength" version of their main product, that ends up not being very different, if at all. But these Velcro fasteners are far beyond the quality and strength of regular Velcro brand fasteners. I am extremely impressed with their strength! I purchased one of those hangable, mesh screen curtains to put in my sliding glass doorway to my apartment balcony that doesn't have a screen. My ceilings are taller than standard, so no screen door on the market would fit my very tall sliding glass doorway. The mesh screen curtains came with a few pieces of Velcro fasteners enclosed, but after installing one and having it fall down overnight, I was very frustrated. I would have nailed the thing to my wall or ceiling, but the way my door is positioned, it is all metal doorframe around it, impossible to use nails with. After browsing Amazon I found these "Industrial Strength" Velcro brand fasteners and hoped they would work. They worked brilliantly! These fasteners have extremely dense, tightly woven pieces of each type, that can hold a lot of weight. The adhesive on the back is also industrial strength, and will stay put wherever you stick it, without falling down or even starting to peel off a tiny bit. One word of advice - be sure where you want to stick these before you stick them on a wall, because once they're applied to the wall, they are extremely difficult to remove (I had to use a knife to pry a piece from the wall and I had only stuck it there moments earlier). These Velcro fasteners have kept my mesh screen curtain in place perfectly. In fact, they worked so well that I decided to install additional mesh curtains in some of my other very tall windows that do no have screens. Out of 3 mesh screen curtains I have installed in my apartment with these Velcro fasteners, none have budged even a millimeter, despite recent storms with heavy wind. So if you need to hang something heavy with Velcro but are worried whether the Velcro will hold, buy these and you won't be disappointed. Please note that my photographs only show a portion of the total amount of strips that are included in the box, as I had already used some when I took the photos. Used to secure a fridge door snugly closed because they stopped selling the gasket for it. The strips stuck nice at first after cleaning the surface thoroughly but after a few days they started coming off and we had to crazy glue them. Then the fuzzy side of the strips wore out and were worthless. After replacing them twice we had to go to another option. Not a reliable product and will not last. ... show more
