    • It fits on my Canon Vixia HF G70 but...
I bought it for my Canon Vixia HF G70 because it has the same 58mm. The tulip one fits perfectly and is easier to carry than the original G70 one, but the rubber one is reflected in the camera when it is fully extended (It's fine if it's in the middle.). In the first place, the G70 is not supported, so I have no complaints. ... show more

    • Sturdy and Great Value
I lost the lens cap and hood for my Fujifilm X-T1 mirrorless camera during a hike, so I decided to buy this set mainly to replace the cap; I thought that the little string would be a good addition, considering my original cap simply fell off of the lens. When I unboxed the set and stuck the lens cap on my camera, I was surprised by how sturdy it was. While it was easy to take off, the cap stayed solidly stuck to my lens — I was not even sure that I would need the string (that being said, I still attached it just in case). It is easy to remove if I ever decide it is a nuisance. I really only use my lens hood to keep rain off of my lens, so the "tulip flower" lens hood is just a bit too short for my purposes. The JJC lens hood is the perfect one, in my opinion — except that it does not sit securely on the lens. In contrast, both lens hoods in this set are sturdy and I trust them much more than the JJC. Considering most individual lens caps on Amazon cost at least $8.00, you might as well grab this whole set for only a few extra dollars. ... show more

When I first got my order, I was a little confused because the tulip fit perfectly, but the rubber one didn’t catch on the threads. I thought it was just a bad product, and was going to leave a bad review. Instead, I reached out to the seller, explained the issue. They said “Oh, someone must have sent you a 55mm rubber one on accident! What’s your address?” A week later, I got a whole SECOND order! They didn’t replace just the rubber model, they just sent another complete kit! So now I have two tulips, two lens caps, two microfiber towels, and one rubber lens hood. Couldn’t be happier. They feel decent quality, I will update this review in the future to comment on durability. ... show more

Wonderful and well thoughtful product for the price. Getting a lens hood for 85mm canon lens was difficult due to vignette issues with the hood. This was the only lens hood that offered reversible setup for the hood that solved the problem. The rubber hood also provided which is great that can expand the lens hood to various settings and useful in sunlight. Instructions to use and the thread to tie the lens cap are well. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The variable geometry rubber is an interesting design, poorly executed. The hood was warped and asymmetrical, as you can see in the photo of the drone by the distribution of the vignette. What I can't show is that this warping appears to cause the hood to collapse when in the middle setting because it won't hold the shape properly. I can't seem to figure out how to reverse the tulip hood. It could be me or the hood, but it doesn't matter. The lens cap is a bit fiddly to get on (compared to the canon caps that come with their lenses). *UPDATE*: With regard to reversing the tulip hood, I did eventually figure it out. The hood was seized on the attaching ring and required somewhat excessive force to remove. After this first instance however the hood now attaches, detaches, and rotates freely. One of the 4 spring bearing seems to be still be seized in place, and is the most likely culprit. The collapsible hood, though still warped, appears to be regaining its shape with time. I can't yet say for certain, but I've noticed it doesn't collapse under its own weight as easily as when I first took it out of the pack. *Original paragraph and title edited for clarity.* *UPDATE*: After posting my original review I was contacted by seller who offered apologies, a full refund, and a replacement product. The tulip hood worked properly, to say that there is no seizing and it detaches and reattaches from the ring without issue as it should. The rubber hood is, however, another story. This one was only slightly warped, as you can see in the photo of the lantern. However, it outright refuses to stay in place when you try to set it to the median position as shown in the video. So, I'll give the tulip hood 4 stars, and the rubber hood 2 stars, and average it out to 3 (5 stars for customer service though). If you really just want the tulip then you'll be fine. If you only want the rubber hood for telephotography then you also shouldn't have any real issues. Otherwise, maybe try something else. *Original paragraph edited for clarity.* ... show more

    • It is good to help protect the front end of the lens ...
There's not much to say. The two lens hoods do the job. With my Canon EF-S 18-55 IS STM lens, the rubber hood will show up in photo when the zoom is at and around 18mm. This quickly goes away as I zoom the lens. However, that is not a problem because the rubber hood is adjustable to 3 lengths. The middle setting does not show up. The tulip flower hood does not show up at all in the photo at any lens setting. I keep this one on all the time. It is good to help protect the front end of the lens along with the UV filter I always have on the lens to protect the optics. The pinch lens cap is as good as the original Canon cap. Good quality and a decent price...I'm happy with this item. ... show more
