  • Value alternative to Nikon FTZ
Size: NF-Z
I know, I know...it's pretty lame that I spend thousands of dollars on bodies and glass, but want to save a few bucks on the F to Z adapter? Yeah, I just like to say that I'm putting that savings towards more lenses. Anyway, this adapter works flawlessly and I am impressed! I have tons of F glass but just went mirrorless and am slowly replacing my older lenses with Z mounts, but until then, this adapter is superbly handy! It adds length for sure, and makes shorter mirrorless body profiles as thick as DSLRs but I've had nothing but success with all my F glass. My only gripe is the tripod/monopod foot on the bottom. I wish it weren't there. It seems like a superfluous addition and that is probably why Nikon made the FTZ II without it. It gets in my way ONLY when removing it from my Z50 body because I have a Peak Design Clutch camera strap that attaches to the camera tripod hole mount that doubles as a Capture Clip mount, that triples as a tripod/monopod base mount. Turning the F to Z mount to attach hits the Clutch mount, necessitating its removal before attaching the adapter. It's not THAT big of a deal, but it means having to find a coin or Allen wrench to loosen the plate to get the adapter on the camera. Sure, once it's on I can just leave it there, right? Change only the F mount lens since I have so many, right? Yeah, well I also have a Fringer Canon EF to Z mount that I often use because I inherited a bunch of fantastic Canon glass (L lenses too) that I will often swap on when shooting sports. What a problem to have, right? Yeah, I have a D5600 that I can use, but I love the mirrorless, and would rather use that for everything. Total first world problems. And I know I should just buy the FTZ II, but I keep telling myself that I can replace a lens for the price of that adapter (well maybe after I SELL a lens too) so it's just more of the same. I'm sure no one needed to read this entire blog post just to find out that this product is excellent. AF is superb. I actually think that my F glass performs better on the Z50 than it does on the D5600. Highly recommended. Excellent value. ... show more

  • Better than the Nikon adapter?
Size: NF-Z
YES! I own the Nikon FTZ and although it works great! It did not work with my Nikon AF-S 300mm F4 ED-IF lens. The Viltrox worked with the same lens without any issues. So far, all of my lenses that have worked with my Nikon FTZ have worked and even some lenses that DID NOT work with my Nikon FTZ work with the Viltrox. The build quality is great and the AF is spot on and face and eye detection is very accurate or as accurate as the Nikon adapter. Save yourself money and buy this instead of the Nikon brand. ... show more

  • Worked fine, looks good
Adapter is fine - mine had pretty tight fit. It is light metal, does connect autofocus just fine. Can remove tripod mount (allen wrench included to do so). It isn’t as nice as the Cannon adapter, and not weather sealed, but fine for most uses if it holds up. Have to be careful to fully lock lenses to it - can turn it all the way without the pin engaging (happened once), so make sure to try and twist the lens back after you think it is locked. I am returning after comparing to the Canon version I also ordered with the adjuster ring. ... show more

  • Works perfectly for Canon M6 M ii
Size: EF-EOS M
It has not failed once to work with my EF lenses. Another review mentioned to attach to the lens first. Then the camera body. I have used the canon 50mm ef lens and the 70-300mm EF lens on my Eos M6 M ii body. The only concern i have is the slight grinding sound it makes when attaching to the body. It is the gold pins making contact with the body mount. I hope it lasts but it costs a fifth of the Canon version. If it fails I will buy another one. Light weight enough. I even used it with extension tubes. All exif data cones thru. Decent build quality. It is what i would expect for less than 50 bucks. ... show more
