It just seems a bit more secure than the stick on attachment would be. The opening does not go completely through the cap, which is great because that would defeat the purpose of using a lens cap to keep dust out. The media could not be loaded. The cap is sturdy and works great on my Sony 23mm to 70mm GM lense, however without the lense hood on. I usually keep my lense hood on with reverse position. The cap fits well with that but when trying to remove the cap comes out. Other than that it's a nice cap. I will have to return I won't be able to use it the way I use my lense. ... show more
