I've been using hotplates for several years (this is the 4th) and am pleased with the quality in this one. It has a real appliance cord with a grounded plug, and is 3.5 feet long which is longer than others and makes placement easier in a kitchen like mine with a scarcity of outlets. The temperature settings are actually reliable 1=warm, 2=low, 3=medium, etc. so I haven't had to guess. The feet are rubbery so it doesn't slide around like the ones with hard plastic feet. The only drawback is that the heating element is small (6 inches) so it isn't practical for large pots, but the unit is also very compact. ... show more

I bought this because I hate my stove. This is nice and level, quuck to heat up, easy to clean, and the settings are true to manual. My only complaint is it took a long time to cool off.

The more you get used to cooking on one of these portable stoves the more comfortable you become working with them as well as aware of what the power capacity of your home. I've liked trying out different portable stoves but did have moments where I felt like something was lacking. The simple fact is that these stoves are helpful in some ways and become constricting in others. It'd be like cooking with a single burner in your at-home stove, yeah you could make it work but it would become tedious. Thus using one of the stoves was also greatly convenient but it did become a little old swapping different pots and pans in and out, especially with the heat limitations of the burners. Sometimes by the time I'm done cooking the plastic casing of the stove will be so hot that I have to set it out to cool down for several minutes. The device itself is easy to use just simply plug in, turn on, and adjust the dial to the heat setting of your choice. There are two dials for each burner and you can use them either together or separately. I tried both to see how it went and other than hot casing (which happens even with regular single burners) it turned on and started cooking immediately and I was able to operate both together and separately. That was really good for something like sauce and pasta where I want both to finish cooking at about the same time for a delicious combination. It works very well, is portable, and I found it really useful for certain meals where I need to prepare things simultaneously. Love it. ... show more

So even having a 4+ burner stove top we still find ourselves in need of an extra burner sometimes. Whether it be cooking a major meal or something with a whole bunch of parts we figured this would help in those situations. For the most part it did. -So it came in very well packaged with everything in great shape. - I was a little worried by the lack of description of what type of plug it would have but thankfully it is a standard grounded plug. - Operation is very straightforward, just plug it in and turn it to the desired temperature. - It heated up very quickly and kept constant temp. - We will have to see how it holds up over time as we have had versions of these warp and start to unevenly heat after a while. I’ll try and update this should that happen. - It wiped clean fairly easily. -The little rubber feet help keep it from skidding around and up off the counter a bit for heat dissipation. -One thing I do have to say though is the pictures are kind of miss leading as far as what types of pans you can put on them at the same time. For instance you can not put two 9.5 inch pans on at the same time. Overall though it is a great price for the added convenience of extra burners. Just be aware it won’t hold bigger (9”) pans at the same time. ... show more

I went to use this for the first time today, 2/22/2024. I was preparing biscuits and gravy for the work crew. I plugged hot plate in, turned up heat to medium. A few seconds later, sparks, pops, BANG the unit began smoking profusely. A bit terrifying you could say as I was standing right next to it. I wasn't even able to finish making breakfast. Lucky the break room didn't catch fire. This may have been a onetime bad hot plate, a lemon if you will. I still would not recommend. ... show more
