I was looking for an alarm clock that wasn’t my phone (too easy to snooze), wasn’t ridiculously loud, and wasn’t too bulky. This was perfect on all accounts! I really love that the volume is adjustable. It comes with 5 alarm sounds or the option to wake up to the radio. The display is clear and easy to read, with adjustable brightness settings. You can set two separate alarms for the day. It’s super easy to set the time and alarms with the buttons up top. It’s lightweight and compact, and after months of having it I’ve had no issues. The only possible improvement I can think of would be including a longer power chord but it’s not a dealbreaker by any means. When my daughter was young (6/7ish), we bought her an alarm clock from Walmart that could be set to only go off on weekdays. We were teaching her how to be self-disciplined and responsible by getting herself up to her alarm each day for school. It’s hard enough to teach that life skill to a youngster, we didn’t want to also risk her forgetting every Friday to turn her alarm off for the weekend (waking us all up way too early on Saturday!) or to turn it back on Sunday before school the next day (possibly being late for school!). The alarm-by-day-of-week feature is really a must-have. We loved that alarm clock, but after many years it started changing to different time zones for no reason and at random times, and caused her to be late on more than one occasion. So, for the 2020 school year, we got her a new one. I began searching for an inexpensive alarm clock that I could customize specific days for each alarm. Because of COVID-19, she was only going to school in-person via bus 2 days a week and needed to be up by 5:10am, the other days were virtual and she didn’t need to be up until later. Our smart phones can do this easily. It’s 2020, so I thought for sure basic alarm clocks could do this too. I had no luck! MAIN REASONS I CHOSE THIS ONE: I landed on this one for several reasons: - It had a 4+ star rating - Good value: lots of good features for a good price - I can set different alarms for weekdays vs weekends, and every day is a third option. - It can be used with batteries as a backup (we have a handful of power outages each year) - Highly adjustable: She can wake up to different kinds of sounds or the radio, she can adjust the alarm sound level, she can adjust the brightness of the display. - Daughter liked the design WOULD BE NICE IF: - I could custom program the days for each alarm. - It set the time itself so it’s always exactly on time (our last one did this when you turned it on) - It auto-adjusted for daylight savings - It had a feature that yelled at your teenager to turn their alarm back on the night before returning to school after having turned it off for a holiday. A FEW MISCELLANEOUS FINAL NOTES: - We’ve had this alarm clock for about 2 months now, and I absolutely recommend it. - The size is just right, not too small. Not big and bulky. It fits perfectly on the corner of my daughter’s vanity. - It’s really simple to use and figure out. My 13 year-old has no issues managing her alarm clock. - I read reviews that this doesn’t work to charge Android phones, but it does. My daughter uses the alarm clock to charge her Google Pixel 2 (see photo). The charging USB ports work well. - She doesn’t use the radio on this at all, so I can’t say whether this is a good radio. But, again, it’s a really great alarm clock. - I asked my daughter and spouse to tell me the bad things and the good things about the alarm clock. Updated review: I bought this as a replacement to an Emerson alarm clock that I had for many years. We do not take our phones to bed, plus I dislike my phone's alarm clock, so a normal alarm clock was the only option. Last night was my first night with the uscce Digital Alarm Clock. I liked the Emerson, but there was one huge drawback - the brightness of the display. In fact, I kept the alarm clock covered to keep my bedroom dark. So, I was thrilled to see that the uscce alarm clock had a dimmer, and according to reviews, it goes dark. This is the best feature of this clock - it can be dimmed so your bedroom stays dark. It is also easy to make it brighter, if you need to see the screen. Here are the things I like: the dimmer, dual alarms, choices for the alarm sounds/tones, small size, fairly easy setup; battery backup. For the items I dislike, I will compare them to the Emerson. First, the sound is supposed to start low and slow and gradually increase. The Emerson handled this well, but the uscce did not. It quickly increased in sound and speed (I chose the beeping) so I woke up to a jarring sound, rather than a softer, background noise. I usually wake up quickly too, but within seconds the uscce was screaming at me. I have the sound set at 6, and will lower it tonight. Nothing puts me in a worse mood for the day then waking up wrong. The second thing I disliked was how to turn it off. I could not tell if it was off or not, so I clicked the button a few times. With Emerson, there was a flashing light indicating the alarm was still on, so it was easy to see once it was turned off. As mentioned, last night was my first night. Tonight I will change tones to the birds and see if that is better and I may also reduced the sound from 6 to 4 ish. I hope I get used to turning it off so this becomes a non-issue. Update: there IS a flashing light that lets you know the alarm is still on, so that's great. I am now using the music with birds and it is significantly better (for me) than the beeping. I have the volume at 3 and it's still a bit loud from the start though. Overall, it is a good alarm clock, especially for the price. A few modifications and I would rate it a 5. ... show more

This little clock checks all the boxes, it's easy to set the time, it has a few different alarm sounds to wake up to or you can use a radio station as an alarm which is a neat feature, and most importantly the dimmer on this alarm actually properly dims the display, I'm very light sensitive and I don't like bright lights, this one can get very dim almost completely off if you wanted to, which is great. The battery backup is Handy, and the two USB ports are ultra handy, I love this little clock and if it ever craps the bed I will certainly buy another. ... show more
