I have a small room I use for an office and occasional recording. I bought some RHINO pads to help with the acoustics, but I needed more and Rhino's about twice the price as these. Now I know why. First, they are NOT 0.40" thick, and they are not 12x12. They measure roughly 11.75”. I used a micrometer to measure the thickness for accuracy because I could see and feel they weren't the same as the Rhinos. The Rhino pads were between 0.40 - 0.42", and advertised as 0.40". These are 0.34 - 0.35". You can see and feel the difference. They are a bit flimsier than the Rhino pads. For an inaccurate, and somewhat deceiving description, I deducted 2 stars. 0.05" may not seem like a lot to most people, but it can make a difference in product performance. Having fudged on the thickness, I question the accuracy of their NRC rating. 0.95 is an excellent rating. Unfortunately I have no way of testing the NRC rating. I will most likely keep these and use them. They won't be quite as good as the Rhino pads, but probably sufficient for my needs. ... show more

So amazing, I have the worst most loud neighbors in America. I would loose sleep because of how loud the music would get. My daughters room could not be used because of the horrible noise they would produce. Well I am so glad I purchased these amazing little squares !! Let me tell you my neighbors can blast music all night and me and my daughter don’t hear a single beat !! I’m not kidding ! I love this product so much I will be purchasing another bunch to put in my room to block noise from the cars on the street! I think these were a good purchase, I need for a wall with a noisey office next door, I only got 12 pack. if they go on sale i will get more. they work well but i think you need a few packs for good sound blocking. I like the white/grey color and plan to get more.

    • Extreme variance in terms of quality and color between batches.

I've ordered many units of these over the last few months, and they have been very inconsistent from batch to batch. For one, the shades in the same color are different enough that you can see which ones are from what batches when installed side by side. Also, the density of the panels are different as well. Some are lighter, some are softer and less firm. I started noticing a considerable quality drop when they started using new (cheaper) packaging where they just threw the fiber panels into a cheap Amazon multi-product grouping bag instead of the thicker mil rating bag where they used packing tape to seal the packaging. As mentioned previously, these new panels are lighter in color and density, and less firm (you can bend it easier, almost like a felt pad). When testing these new panels with a decibel meter directly behind the center of the panel, the performance was slightly lower than the original panels which confirmed my initial suspicions. Also, because of the cheaper packaging (and the fact that they're softer), the corners of the pads in the latest shipment arrived bent and damaged on all of the panels. I don't recommend purchasing these anymore as the quality is not what it used to be in the beginning. ... show more

    • Light weight and buffers sound

Product accurately described and perform and look great. Used these on the wall as a sound buffer in A changing table nook to dampen baby’s cries when changing him. Helps a lot and look nice. The tiles don’t come with self-adhesion so we used double stick tape to apply them to the wall.

The quality is apparent as soon as you open the box - much better than some "bargain bin" options I've tried before that had uneven edges and smushed corners. They are dense, but not heavy to the point they're a pain to hang. For the price I couldn't expect much more.
