Blackstone didn't sell the hood assy for the 36", so I looked for a different brand. This one is great. Pretty quick installation. I would caution against removing all screws on a side to install mounting bracket. The internals want to pull back and shift making reinstallation of the screws difficult. By leaving the bottom 2 screws installed and installing the top one loosely that way the internals have less opportunity for movement. I like the coverage it provides, this will also keep dust, pollen, and other materials off of the cover I have directly on the griddle. I think a washer on the outside with a locknut would be better for the hinge point as rotation can cause the nut to become loose after repeated uses, not a deal breaker but would be an improvement. I really like the spring loaded pin on the side to prevent the lid from blowing closed while cooking. ... show more

I bought a used grill with no lid and this lid fit perfectly. The directions were so easy to follow with great looking pictures of each step. It only took me a few minutes to install onto the grill due to the great instructions. The item was packaged very well within a plastic bag with styrofoam surrounding it with the small parts covered with bubble wrap. IF you follow the instructions as laid out you will be told to remove the corner screws that support the new lid. I using a screwdriver removed both screws. When I reinstalled the screws with the support bracket as instructed one screw snapped off and the second support hole is now too large to even hold the weight of the screw in and my brand-new grill is broken. The original parts are never intended to be removed as they are self-tapping and putting them back is impossible without drilling one screw out and buying new screws to fill the oversized hole.
