    • YOU CAN STAND UP IN THIS TENT

Two Weeks ago I went camping with a group of people - one was an acquaintance who had recently bought this tent. We all had different tents and hers was far superior because she fit a whole twin sized bedframe in her tent along with futon mattress and a table-she could stand up in her tent to change and actually had a large sturdy room. The rest of us had low tents we had to crouch around inside and when the wind blew the tentS hers held up well while our tents kept whipping around in the wind and hitting us and waking us up. The next morning she was far more cheerful than everyone else 🙂 Fast forward 2 weeks and THIS TENT WAS PRETTY REASONABLE so I bought in a color I LOVE (I was happy there were so many color choices because I got a teal tent and she has an orange one-I think mine blends in with the environment a little better!!) and went camping again. There are many things I love about this tent and only one complaint. I love the big size (it's the size of a small room in a house!) and the very sturdy legs of the tent and the height. It has the 3 poles in the top to hold the top out, but then it has these wonderful long sturdy legs on all 4 sides that are so easy to install securely that give it the height and also are not part of the top assembly so hold the tent more intact in the wind! I like the fact that it has four windows and the mesh hammock in the top is a great place to put a light at night and it also has two mesh pockets on opposite sides of the tent well off the ground to store cell phones and flashlights. I also feel like the poles are a little thicker and a very good quality-I have had fiberglass poles splinter over time in the past and this tent seems like it will hold up a better with the thick, study metal poles.The tent was easy to set up and take down and fit nicely in the bag again (in the past it has been a struggle to get a tent back in its bag so I appreciate the little extra room in the bag so it is not such a huge struggle). After one weekend of camping it I think it might be the nicest tent I have owned as far as ease of set-up and comfort inside. The one thing I would have liked is for the door to have double zippers. In order to open or close the door you have to run the single zipper all the way from the top to the bottom in a very long C shaped track every time. You can’t zip the bottom zipper up a bit to keep out your friend’s little dogs and the zipper is nothing special (not YKK) -I am worried that over time the one zipper is going to start sticking along its long path and break. All of the windows have double zippers so I am not sure why they did not put one on the door. All in all this is a great tent at this price point. As usual with all tents I think it might be a struggle to fit 6 people in this one tent, but in my experience all tent size estimates assume there are going to be 6 very small people with no gear sleeping on the ground so this is not shocking. I think you could realistically fit maybe two adults and maybe 1 or 2 children on a mattress and maybe some gear in the tent comfortably at the most.I like separate camping cots and I can’t see putting more than 3 in there. I will still give it 5 out of 5 stars unless that ONE zipper in the door breaks and then I will be back to pitch a fit (hopefully it will hold up!) ... show more

Sometimes items that are a good deal are too good to be true. I expected this tent to be just OK but was pleasantly surprised! We used it a couple days after it arrived. The materials seem be good quality and it was easy to set up by myself (even with the wind). The tent stood up well during a windy evening with plenty of metal anchors to secure to the ground. I dreaded the thought of taking it down at the end of camping and getting it all back into the bag but was able to do so pretty easily. Three of us used the tent and had plenty of space to spread out with our stuff. I do think this tent will fit six small people for sleeping - but it would be tight and there would be no room inside for your bags. The six person capacity must be intended for children - but for our family of four, 2 adults and 2 children, this is the perfect fit! ... show more

No longer happy with sleeping on the ground, AND wanting a tent big enough to have a cot and camp chair, and still be able to move around without falling over, I chose the "6 person" cabin tent. It was so nice to be able to be off the ground (I'm not as flexible as I was 10 or 15 years ago), and it was nice to be able to stretch out on a cot (no more rocks in the back!) and not have my gear piled on all sides. It's a bit heavy to lug around, and there is a bit of a learning curve trying to set it up for the first time for one person, and you really have to fight to get the two long fiberglass poles into the pockets. But no more so than any other similar tent. The zippers all worked well, the large windows and screen roof kept things nice and cool once the sun went down. It kept the rain out too, as long as nothing touched the sides (as is the case with most tents) until a storm squall struck it straight on (can't expect even a "windproof" tent to handle 60mph gusts coming from several directions) and tore the rainfly free (I even had extra guylines on the tent and fly, but that was a bit much for any tent). Looking forward to my next multi-day campout with my new tent! Addition: Customer Service is TOP NOTCH and responsive. I contacted UNP through Amazon, and the company helped me get new poles for this tent and Mom's tent (same model) when the tents met with that severe storm (it spawned tornadoes). The tents held up well, with only one small rip anong a seam, but several poles were damaged. The company representatives were very friendly and did a wonderful job in helping us get replacement poles. ... show more

So sad that we had to return our tent. We really liked it and it was our first time getting back into camping after 30 years. But, as someone else said ‘one of our poles elastic came undone and became useless. But, other than the door, there wasn’t a feature we didn’t like. The roof is entirely net, so star gazing was lovely. The fly was easy to put on. The pockets were fine. The straights walls were nice. However, if you touched the sides AT ALL during the night, really invited water to come on in. But, to be honest, it’s a cheaply made tent, construction just really isn’t there. For another $200, we can get a sturdier, better quality tent. We should have just spent the money and do that vs. having to go thru returning something and looking for a better quality tent. And, hope to get it before our next scheduled camping trip. ... show more

The weather the weekend I used this was very good so I can’t speak on the tent being waterproof or even withstanding strong winds. I can say it was very easy to put up and take down. We could also fit it back in its bag to store it. We got the 6 person tent. Fit a queen sized Coleman air mattress easily. Left us with space to store clothes and random stuff. You could def fit two side tables if you wanted. Was able to stand up fine and change inside. Was a good purchase! ... show more
