i've bought a lot of crappy sim cards from resellers over the years so i think these folks deserve a shout-out for having a product that works as advertised. i've successfully used the card for 24 hrs so far. it works fine in my chromebook and i experimented with putting it an old iphone and setting it up as a hot-spot. my home internet is down for a week and this really got me out of a jam with a same day prime delivery! be sure to budget time for activation. the packaging says up to 3 days but i was online within 6 hours of filling out the web based application for activation. also for foreigners travelling to the u.s. be aware that t-mobile coverage is spotty but it works fine in all metro areas. ... show more

This seems to be a very competitively priced sim card that was originally intended to be used in the u.s. by foreigners traveling abroad. I actually needed it for a wireless modem/router that works with the t-mobile network. So long as you consider the minimum activation period of 24 hours you shouldnt have any problem using it here in the United States. Great communication between the foreign company and I, which changed to emails with the American folks that handled the activation and made sure I was taken care of and happy. Went thru a lot of reading reviews on various options for someone coming to the US from abroad, wanting a sim card with internet access and talk time, for 3-4 weeks. Choice fell on this T-Mobile even quite a few are not happy. My experience was flawless.... I bought it and had it sent to my home country way before my US arrival. I requested a few days prior to arrival, as it is clearly described you have to do in the instructions, to have it registered/activated on the day I arrive to The States. There I put it in my phone and I believe it was online like 2 hrs after. Its valid 30days, with 50GB data and unlimited talk and text. I used this phone in California, Arizona, Nevada without a single hickup, no down time at all. Of course going thru desert areas, mountains etc, there are dead spots here and there, but that went for my own sim card as well. Thats how it is, the dead spots go for all carriers. In cities, on highways etc, the signal strength was max almost all the time. This T-Mobile worked nothing short of great, and I spoke a lot on the phone too, sms'ed, never an issue. Albeit some travelers planning to go to the US will be wary about the somewhat unusual way of activating it, I can only give my best recommendations. This will definitely also be my choice of sim on my next trip there, 100% Dont forget to email them and request activation prior to arrival. Email them a week prior and say on which date you want it activated. Then after a few days you will get activation confirmation. I'm very happy with the sim and the help I received with costumer service. I call to conect the sim before the holiday received an email that they were going to work hard to conect my sim and after 3 hours received an email that the sim was connected. It has a good signal work asom for me in utah.

I would not recommend this service to my worst enemy. Service never worked. Contacted customer service on multiple occasions and received no response at all. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this prepaid card, which were mostly negative. I decided to take a chance thinking that would not be my experience, I was wrong. Please, for your benefit and piece of mind, DO NOT PURCHASE! I don't even know how Amazon is allowing them to remain in business with them. ... show more

I bought this sim card for my sister's travel in the US. The sim card was activated on her first day of travel at around 1pm. If you have to use it on your first day, be mindful that it may not be activated until 5pm - which is ridiculous, then why do they count the first day into their service?     • Lousy speeds with dishonest service

I bought this SIM card to use with a mobile hotspot after carefully checking the product description to confirm that it works that way. When I installed the card, the download speed was only 0.1 Mbps. I called T-Mobile to find out why, and after a half-hour wait, a customer service rep named Natalya said that the "plan I selected" doesn't work with mobile hotspots. I quoted her the product description (and the message from the tech support person who initialized the card) showing that the card does work with hotspots, and then she changed her mind and said that the reason the card is slow is that there's no T-Mobile service in my area. I reminded her that the T-Mobile coverage map shows that there's 3G, 4G, and 5G coverage at my exact address, and then she said that the tower nearest me is in the middle of "modernization" that is slowing down the speeds. She offered to install some updates on the SIM card, which eventually raised the download speed to 0.5 Mbps -- still far too slow for the video calls that I need to do for work. I asked to speak to her manager, and she said they would call me back because there is a "queue" for manager time, but it's been almost 24 hours and I haven't heard from a manager. ... show more
