  • Cheap. Works as described
I got this with free one-day shipping to an Amazon locker in Seattle. At $9.75, which includes $5 in credit (500 MB for what I want it for), this is the best deal I could find off- or online. I have an out-of-country visitor who needs very basic internet access when not on WiFi. Activation online was a breeze. The instructions on the website were clear. Read them carefully, and give yourself about 10 minutes and be patient. (If you bought this because it is cheap, remember that you are not going to get the slickest white-glove experience.) I was able to test the data access as soon as the phone powered up after installing the new SIM. As other reviewers have noted, you will be asked to provide a credit card number for auto-renewal. (If you leave a positive review, you get an extra free month added to your current month - I have no idea how much data, if any, that translates to. I need mine for only two weeks.) ... show more

  • Reloading nightmare
This works great at first. Easy install - worked great for the little bit a kid needed it for. Then it came time to reload a balance! It wouldn't take my credit card without a paper application. When they sent me the paper app, it wouldn't print out as the print function wasn't 'on.' I'd had enough and just added my kid to my own Mint Mobile plan, which I just should have done to begin with. Oh, and had to change the # when I went to Mint because SpeedTalk doesn't have the criteria to even transfer a #. Save your $5 and put it towards a different carrier. ... show more

  • Tremendous Value for Minimal or Emergency Use for 30 Days
Last year when visiting Florida from Canada for a month I purchased a Straightalk card at W**mart which was $30 plus tax. Unable to renew it this year due to Cdn credit card not being accepted so I headed to Amazon and found this amazing value card for $5. Came next day and I set it up online but needed to call their Help line and CSR was terrific. Told him I would defintely not be using phone to consume 500 units nor will I need it renewed and he set it up with my Cdn credit card and the phone was immediately activated so I am good to go. Amazing value for $5. ... show more

  • unable to activate, called tech support several times, so many excuses
unable to activate, called tech support several times, so many excuses received the card, looks legit. but that was the end of my positive experience. i tried to activate it, but the website was having some technical issues. had to call tech support, and they weren't able to activate it either. they said to wait 24 hours. at that point, it was already useless. to me. if you need to make a phone call, you usally don't have time to wait 24 hours to "maybe" get it to work anyhow, i gave it a long shot waited a few weeks and tried it again. i already wasn't looking forward to going through all this again. you have to keep typing in the 20 digit code on the back of the card. anyone ever heard of a QR code? this time the website required me to enter my credit card information just to get it o activate. it still didn't work. so i called tech support and they offered to send me a new SIM card, as long as i took a photo of my current SIM card , and sent them a copy of the receipt. i told them this is f-ing ridiculous. 2 months trying to get a SIM card to work is not worth $5. save your money and pay someone who has a reliable service to offer.. ... show more

  • Just what I needed
I bought this SIM card along with a kids smart watch for my grandson. It came with easy to follow instructions for setting it up online or you can call to activate it. I activated it online and received a phone number right away. It's easy to select the applicable size from the punch-out card so it fit the smart watch. This one came with a pre-loaded plan, but there are other plans available too. You will have the option of viewing them when you activate the card. They have unlimited usage plans, but I chose a lower plan to start with. However, there's an option that I chose to select that will automatically add a $5 "cash card" to the account if the minutes run out. This will avoid any interruption in service. The nice thing about the cash card is that it rolls over to the next month if you don't use it all up in the month you acquired it. ... show more

  • Easy to install; works great on Dual SIM
I wanted an inexpensive option for my business line for infrequent communications via text, and this simple monthly plan for $5 was exactly what I was looking for. Works great in my dual SIM phone. Installation and setup was easy on my Samsung Note 10. Worked on the first try. Update 6/15/23: after almost a year I am downgrading from 5 stars. This phone number is constantly getting spammed by marketers and employers looking for their interviewee. I am not sure where the pool of phone numbers come from. I have another phone using Mint and do not have any of these issues. Fortunately I only need this phone number for rare situations otherwise I would never use it as my regular personal phone number. ... show more

  • Might need to call to get activation
Got this to go along with a kids smart watch with cellular capability. Card installed easily, three different punch out sizes depending on which size you need. Online setup was simple, although after waiting the recommended time, it was not activated. I started over a weekend and have it a few extra days during the week to account for “business days”. After about 5-6 days from activation, no signal. They were able to get the activation going within 24 hours after I called customer service (at most 10-15 min wait). After that worked fine until my son lost the $32 watch. Good thing I didn’t do the auto renew option!! ... show more
