The media could not be loaded. Let the video speak for itself. Rather than remove the entire liner around the frame like the instructions recommended, I did something a little different and I will plastic weld the liner where I made the cut. This thing is pretty cool. And handy. Just keep in mind it doesn't hold a lot. It doesn't hold much at all actually. 'Bare minimum' is the term you should employ when imagining this box. I managed to fit a socket set, a small tool bag of misc. hand tools, 1 tow strap, 2 cargo straps, jumper cables, gloves, a hand towel and that's about it. Installation was easier than the YouTube videos make it seem and they look pretty easy. I just had to take a deep breath and swallow hard when I drilled into my brand new truck bed. 4 times. But it came out perfect and I'm no mechanic. The case swings nicely, the latch and locking mechanisms are solid as is the case itself. For plastic. I'm certain a screwdriver and a hard push could jimmy the lock in 2 seconds and pop the door open. So don't keep valuables in it. But it locks in nice and doesn't rattle. You can also lift the case off easily which is nice, just be sure to get a lock so no one else can do it. Last night, a group of (suspected) teens broke into 4 cars, stealing whatever they could find at my apartment complex. The key lock cover on my case was up when I got up this morning. I thought that was odd and just flicked it back down. After my neighbor came over and explained the break-ins, I realized they probably tried, quietly, to get into my case but couldn't, thanks to the lock. Keep it locked! Nice case overall. It's too bad they don't make an XL or something. It could be several inches taller and still sit well below the top of the truck bed rail. And a bit thicker plastic would inspire more confidence. Maybe an aluminum model? I would buy that. ... show more

Saw this item on the Internet while searching for a smaller toolbox. Read the reviews and believed it to be exactly what I needed. Received it shortly after ordering from Amazon. Read the install instructions, basic and easy, and was able to install this box in under 30 minutes. Works exactly as others have said and is perfect for what was needed. Positives and negatives listed below. Positives: Simple. Does not take a lot of room in the bed. Appears to be rugged and water-tight. Easy to install. More inside space than would seem. Lockable. Negatives: You need to supply your own lock to secure the box from being able to be take it off of the pins and taken away. A loop is included for this, but does not come with a lock. This means that instead of one key to lock the top AND to lock the box from being taken from the truck, you will need two. This is a fairly small complaint, but a change in design allowing the top of the box to be locked and the box itself to be locked onto the pins at the same time would seem to be a no brainer for security. Even offering to sell a lock that is keyed the same as the top would be a way for the company to make a little more money on the sale. All in all, if you have a few tools and other items that you like to keep with your truck, but hate to keep stuffed under the seats, this box works very nicely. ... show more

This tool box was designed to swing out from the bed onto the tailgate area presumably intended for trucks that have the bed covers which it functions well for. It sits lower then the top of the bed and is tight against the side - tapered to fit the tire well. It does all this - its a little light duty - it locks up easy enough (however a hammer could be used smash its way into it fairly easy - its made of plastic). You can also lock it with a padlock so it won't swing out. It doesn't carry a lot of tools but I keep the quick to grab stuff (no power) as it is handy. Its OK - Little expensive ... show more

simple install. removable. great place to store rope, tiedowns, cheap tools rags, etc... EASY to remove if you need the space, but it is VERY space efficient. It would be cool if these were diamond plate aluminum with a better lock, but theyd be 3x the price.

Outstanding storage box! I will be purchasing another one for the driver’s side soon. My main concern was if it would fit with my BAKFlip tonneau cover. In order to install the BAKFlip on a 21 Tundra, you need to lower the rail system in the bed. Luckily, the Swingcase fits perfectly under the lower rails! Install was easy. All you need is a Torx 40 bit to remove the factory anchor point in the truck bed. An 11mm socket and a good drill will take care of the rest. Total install time was 10 minutes. ... show more

Awesome tool box - space saver, fits nicely, easily removable, lockable, swings out for easy access. Install was much easier than I expected - I had never drilled into any car/truck before and I was a little nervous but it was was easy and lined up perfectly. I used a cordless 20 volt impact driver - not sure if a drill would have enough power but maybe...obviously not ideal for a contractor but perfect for someone who just wants to store some basic tools, trailer hitch, first aid, tie downs, bungees, emergency equipment, etc. I bought both the driver side and passenger side boxes. I did have to take out my plastic bed liner (also very easy to do). I could cut out spaces for the mounts and reinstall but might just get a bed mat instead. ... show more
