If you are using for a house and don't have any water pressure from this replace the pressure valve and that should fix the problem but if you're living like I do and have a water pump for a camper trailer don't put on the pressure valve unless you leave the water pump on all the time either way the pressure valve could be faulty but the water heater tank works like a charm but watch the temperature dial it's not labeled ... show more

So I like the water heater it does great and heats fast. I didn’t like how short the cable was to connect it. You would need a socket under your sink which most do not have. You will also need a hose that’s 1/2” or a adapter because most sinks are 1/2” water lines.

Seems like a well made unit. I got the 2.5 gal model and hooked it only to my kitchen sink. I ran a test and set water temperature to 120 degrees. Opened the faucet and after 1 gallon of water the temperature dropped to about 109 degrees. My water coming in is at 50 degrees so when water came in to replace the water going out it diluted the water in the tank. After another half gallon the water temperature was around 100 degrees. It takes several minutes (3 to 6) for the heater to reheat the water. To fill our sink we water about a gallon and a half of hot water. This didn't work for us so I sent it back. ... show more

    • It's not "leak proof", it flooded the kitchen the first night
Well as this is what's called a white label product you will see sold by others under different names All the difference is in what's included in the box I can tell that most people are happy with it and the afternoon it worked I was also. But then it leaked at the gasket internally where the water heater connects to the steel pressure vessel and flooded the kitchen severely as well as soaking some small kitchen appliances. I can only conclude the supplied pressure relief valve failed shut as there were no leaks earlier I could see but maybe the case was holding water up to a point. The instructions are bad but after initially assuming the relief valve was colour coded, it is not, red signifies the pressure range, it goes on the blue/cold side, we found it was constantly leaking, not a lot but enough. So this indicated the house water pressure was too high so the plumber adjusted the pressure at the main supply, no water releasing so that seemed to be good and we plugged it in, voila nice hot water except it did start to melt the extension cable's plug after 15 minutes. 1500w is not a whole lot but continuously for 20-30 minutes before it reaches the max of 150f depending on the starting water temperature, it can cook a cheap extension. Best to use 10 AWG wire if you need an extension and don't forget the earth and proper breaker socket if needed. Thankfully as I was planning to do the new wiring yesterday it was unplugged overnight but no water came out of the release valve, the gasket for the heating element leaked. Possibly just very unlucky with a bad gasket but I'd be mindful that 'leak proof' is just sales talk. ... show more

I use this small RV heater as a quick water heater in my kid's bathroom, as it takes a lot of time for hot water to get there. It's just the size that fits into the under sink and I like the knob for temperature control, makes it easier. One thing that needs pointed out: it requires a double 1/2 Inch FIP Connectors to connect from the output hose to the tap. It is not found in local hardware stores. But of course, a quick search on Amazon solves it. ... show more

    • Not Impressed with Quality for "Under Cabinet", Keeping as Emergency Backup
I originally ordered this to help provide hot water for an upstairs bathroom sink as it takes forever for hot water to travel from the basement to the sink. "Instant on" hot water seemed like a good idea. But upon receiving the unit, I was less than impressed with the quality and instructions and ultimately decided I will keep this as an emergency hot water supply should my main water heater fail. I may hook this up in my utility room, leaving the power disconnected and the tank empty, ready to fill with water should the need arise. It's hard to characterize why I'm not impressed, it just feels really cheap. The casing is a very cheap plastic, the controls feel cheap, any/all information on the unit itself is printed on a cheap sticker, there is no serial number or UL listing, the instructions are a little sketchy. There's actually a warning sticker on the unit that advises you to "close the water supply and disconnect the power" unit if it's not used for 24 hours, "otherwise the consequences will be at your own expense". That seems rather impractical as I could certainly see this being installed at sinks where you might not use hot water for a few days. The power cord is just over 3 feet long, which really isn't long enough for my tastes when it comes to safety. Chances are you will need to use an extension cord to be able to plug this in. Be sure to use a decent gauge extension cord as this draws 1500 watts. Personally, I'd probably use a 12/3 cord but recommend at least a 14/3. You should also try to shield the connection point from any possible water spray or leakage in the event of a unit failure. Overall, it should be easy to install, but I might recommend having someone "handy" with plumbing/electrical items help you out if you never do much with plumbing/appliances. Your water pressure should be below 100psi (0.7MPa) else the safety valve will be constantly discharging the extra pressure. That shouldn't be a problem as most households will be between 30psi and 80psi. If your water pressure is greater, you'll need to add a fixture to restrict the pressure. The recommend cleaning the tank at least once per year to prevent scaling. You might want to do that more frequently if scaling is a problem with your water. In my house, I would probably do it at least twice a year. For the price, I suppose it would make a good water heater for a temporary supply but I don't think I'd want to use this full-time as a permanent installation "under sink" or "under counter". Maybe for use in a workshop or a camper or as an emergency solution like I'll be keeping it for. If they hadn't advertised it as "under sink" or "under counter" but instead just as an "RV water heater" I might have given it 4-stars. ... show more
