My first purchased unit was not functional. There was some defect, so I contacted support and they let me ship the defective unit and sent me a replacement. I was impressed by how responsive support was! After receiving the replacement, it works like a charm! I started off at level 1 because of all the horror stories of burns and skin irritation I found on google. Turns out, my skin has no irritation from using this product on my legs and armpits (I don’t use on private areas though, so be careful with the power levels on pink skin!). I’m able to use the device at full power (level 5), and I saw significant hair removal after 1 month. Now, I just use it once a week after shaving. Be sure to get some razor bump treatment during the first few months of use, because as the device thins your hair, your thinned hair will still try to emerge from your pores, causing ingrown hairs. This problem will resolve itself as long as you continue to use the device regularly. Soon, there will be little or no hair at all! It’s very easy to use and the device is big enough to cover large areas, like legs, but small enough to fit in my hand. I’m not sure about durability yet, because I’ve only had the device for less than a year. I will update my review after some time has passed to review durability. ... show more

Update. Today is September 27th 2023. I know i said i was gonna update 2 months after, it was been a busy summer. Anyhow, Am almost hair free. I still get a few strays here and there. I still zap away at least twice a week/once a week. I got the confidence i never had since my teen years. And it feels amazing. To all my ladies out there. Commit to it. It was one of the best investments I've made on myself. Must share that i apply aloe vera gel after every use. Good luck to all of you struggling with facial hair. ******** ******** ********* ********** ******** Am a female on my mid 30’s, i have struggle with facial hair since i was a teen. No PCOS have ever been diagnosed. I had laser hair removal in my early 20’s, as a result i got what i feel was twice as much hair back and scarring of my skin. I have tried everything out there, hair growth minimizers, wax, plucking, laser hair removal you name it. First month of using ULike IPL i took it “easy” zapping twice each area which is what customer service recommended. But three weeks ago i started zapping 4 times each area. This is what my skin tolerates, by no means am advising anyone to do the same, this is what has worked for me. My chin has been my major concern and i keep working on it; today marks 2 months of zapping away every 3 days. As you can see in the pictures the hair is not completely gone, but this is a big achievement for me. I will update my review in two months from now hoping to be hairless for the first time since my teen years. i did armpits, legs, arms, upper lip and bikini area, committed to do it every three days zapping twice each area for 2 weeks, hair is 90% gone and i continue to do it now once every 2 weeks. Soon it will be once a month for those areas. I am writing this review with the only purpose of helping other women that suffer the same condition.     • Works on Most Body Hair
So, I have been using this product off and on for about a year now. I use it on three areas; legs, underarms, and nether regions. I generally use the product 1-3 times a week, depending on how I'm feeling after a shower, and I use it on the highest setting. There have been stretches where I didn't use it for weeks or a month or two at a time because life happened and self-care took a back seat for a bit. In that time, it has worked best on thinner body hair, the thicker the hair the longer results take. My leg hair was already baby fine, and now it barely grows at all. Underarms, the hair is still growing BUT the hairs are much more sparse, thinner, and lighter in color. Unless you are close enough to give it a good sniff you really can't tell if I have or haven't shaved. The area it has not worked super great on is the down under area. The hair is a bit more patchy, the strands a little thinner, and growth has slowed slightly. But it's still very clearly there and even when I use it regularly the hair only slows in growth. I'm not hair free in the underwear area, but the hair is taking longer to grow. Maybe with very regular use for months at a time it will stop, but, it's been a few months of regular use there and it's still just slower, slightly thinner growth. On the upside, as long as the skin is dry the device is pretty much painless. If I find a damp spot it does have the rubberband slap feeling, but it's just a moment of pain.     • Does not work on chin hair at all!
I was very excited to buy this device since I compared it to so many other laser products and it seemed promising based on all its reviews. However, after using it specifically on chin hair that has been darker and growing more and more, I'm highly disappointed because it seems that shaving before lasering 3 times a week every week, made things much worse! I had to shave every other day before laser and I was using it 3 times a week for two months without any results and actually having thicker hair and more ingrowns and skin irritation than ever before! I think the light that flashes may be just for show and I am starting to think that it's not working at all. I never even felt like it was even hurting (or that strong rubber band feeling at least), so it leads me to think that this product may be defective. The return period has passed, so I am now stuck with a laser device that only made things worse rather than helped in area like chin where it's very important that it works, so that I don't have to shave like a man (I'm a woman btw) or pluck the stubborn thick coarse hairs constantly. Btw, they were not this thick and coarse before the laser. I am so disappointed that I wasted my money and now my chin is always breaking out and rough. ... show more
