I have a couple of selfie sticks that have the spring-loaded holders for your phone, but always felt that they were a little bulky and I always had to keep up with them. Finding the ULANZI MG-003 53.7in Magnetic Phone Selfie Stick was such a find! The stick is ultra compact and will allow me to transport it anywhere - backpack, small bag, coat or pant pocket too. The telescoping pole was very easy to extend as well as retract. In order to activate the tripod legs, simply press the button on the bottom (marked "press") and you can extend out the tripod legs. The stick has no problems in standing up and is sturdy too considering how small it is. For me, the selling point was the magnetic mount. I have an iPhone 15 Pro Max with a Magsafe case and it snapped on with no problems whatsoever. I was a little hesitant because I'm always worried that the connection won't be strong enough and it might seem to have your phone secured until you move it a little bit and then it falls off. Not with this selfie stick! It is attached on there really strong and you have to give it a "pull" in order to get it off. Moving from portrait to landscape is a breeze, just turn your phone; no need to pull your phone completely off. The height of the stick fully extended is 52 inches and that works perfectly for the kind of things I'm shooting. If that wasn't enough, the stick also included a remote control for ease in taking pictures and videos. A simply pairing of the remote to your phone and you're good to go. I've had other selfie sticks that included remote BUT they are separate and apart from the stick. I love how the remote is recessed into the stick! One less thing to keep up with, which is such a bonus in my book! Ulanzi makes a great selfie stick and I highly recommend this one! ... show more

    • Love This Tripod
First, I love that this phone tripod is SO portable shen collapsed. It’s easy to open the fold-out legs on the bottom by pushing the small built-in button on the bottom. It does telescope up to a great height but is able to stop at any height in between because it’s not loose when extended. It comes with a small wireless remote control that clips nice and flush with the rounded tripod case. Very easy to pair with a phone via Bluetooth. The magnetic holder for the phone opens easily and allows you to take a photo or video simply by pressing the remotes button for one second. In photo mode photos and in video mode videos. I’ve had other remotes that one press is for photos and a long press videos. This isn’t like that. You must decide before using the remote which setting on your camera you are going to use, photo or video. For portrait or landscape, just turn your phone. The magnetic holder just folds out straight but can’t turn, you must turn your phone to decide which mode. This tripod does come with a charging cord for the micro remote too. But, did arrive with some charge already on it. I really like this portable phone tripod. I’m not using it as a “selfie” stick but it can be used that way too. The magnetic part folds out easily and the remote part is easily reached with your hand holding the stick to take a pic or video. Also, seems pretty sturdy on a level surface. I would definitely recommend this phone tripod. The only criticism would be that it would be nice if it came with a protective soft side type of case to carry it. ... show more

I wanted a phone stand so I could use a controller with games on my phone. My wife will use it as a selfie stick for her and her friends. Gotta love multi-use gizmos. This is a fairly substantial little tool, I guess it weighs about a pound. It's not tiny either, you have to plan to bring this out with you, it's going to take up some room. The magnet that holds the phone is very strong, not much chance it's going to fall off, but I'm not sure I'd dangle it off a cliff without a tether anyway. The little remote shutter trigger is a nice touch as well. It slides right into the handle/tripod section so you can use it in a couple ways. All together, a very useful tool if you have the need and the price seems like a bargain considering what it can do. ... show more

What a great selfie stick! More often than not, selfie sticks are poorly made and end up being more of a hassle to use than worth it. However, this Ulanzi stick seems to solve all of the issues I've had with previous selfie sticks. The stick is compact and lightweight and easy to pack in a small bag or backpack. The stick extends similar to most selfie sticks, but I found this one to be a bit taller. Despite the additional height, the stand is quite stable. The magnetic ring easily sticks onto your MagSafe phone, case, or other magnetic phone. I used a MagSafe phone in a magnetic case and the phone securely stuck to the magnet in both vertical and horizontal orientations. The box even contains a metal ring with adhesive to allow non-magnetic phones to work. One of the smart features is the selfie remote is securely stored within the stand at all times. You can't remove it unless you extend the stick. I think this is a great feature as I'm always losing the remote for my other selfie stick. This is a great selfie stick that is so much better than other options I've seen out there. I'd definitely recommend it. ... show more

    • It's more than a selfie stick
I have always scoffed at selfie sticks, but I can reconcile having this one because it is also a tripod and has remote control features. We have to live with ourselves after all. I really like this device. My phone attached very securely during my testing yesterday, and the remote button is removeable to use as a shutter trigger and to be recharged via the included USB-C cable. It paired with my phone in a few seconds, and works perfectly. The tripod is sturdy, and was stable during my use. It extends just enough that it is useful, but can telescope down to a manageable and portable size. I'm impressed with this, and I know it will be very useful. ... show more
